IPB University Alumni Presents Park for Almamater
Alumni of the IPB University from batches 26 and 27 made two parks at the Dramaga Bogor IPB University Campus. The park handover event was held at the Dramaga IPB University Campus, Bogor (13/4).
According to the Vice Rector for Cooperation and Information Systems of IPB University, Prof. Dr. Dodik Nurrochmat, IPB Alumni Park is the result of collaboration between IPB University alumni and the Directorate of Alumni Cooperation and Relations. There are two stages of garden work. the first stage of work were done in 2018 located in the Common Class Room (CCR) and in front of Graha Widya Wisuda (GWW). Whereas the second phase will be built this year from alumni from various generations.
"Aside of alumni concern for their alma mater, the construction of this park is one of the efforts to revitalize existing facilities in IPB. With the help of alumni, making a park as one of the facilities at IPB can be done. There are at least 10 potential points within the Dramaga IPB campus which are prioritized for the construction of parks. Such as in GWW, Academic Event Plaza, CCR, Gymnasium, Teaching Lab, IPB University, FMIPA and Arboretum exits, "he said.
Making park on the IPB University Dramaga campus in addition to beautifying the environment will also create a comfortable and cool campus atmosphere. A comfortable and cool environment will certainly support the activities of residents in it. A cool environment also makes it healthier and happier. The cooperation hopefully will be resulting in healthier environment of the campus.
Meanwhile, according to the RECTOR of IPB University , Dr. Arif Satria, health is located in the healty environment. This means that health does not come from consuming drugs but a healthy environment. This is called holistic health.
"Holistic health can be achieved if there is integration between humans and nature. Because being close to nature will make life happier so that it will affect health. Of course, his hope with the existence of alumni parks can make IPB students healthier because the surrounding environment is green, cool and comfortable, "he said.
On the same occasion the Secretary General of the Central Board of Governors (DPP) of the Alumni Association (HA) of IPB University, Walneg S. Jas said that the Alumni Association strongly supported the idea of the Rector of IPB University to increase parks in IPB University.
