Description:

A research team from IPB University has successfully created an innovative oral care product called “c et chic,” fortified with hydroxyapatite and black zedoary oil. Funded by LPDP, the product has received approval from BPOM and is halal-certified by MUI. This innovation is designed to prevent dental caries and has been clinically proven to have a remineralizing effect on teeth. Hydroxyapatite, as the main component, plays a crucial role in repairing enamel damage, while black zedoary oil serves as an antibacterial and anti-plaque agent.

“Based on clinical trials conducted by the dental clinic team at IPB on the ‘c et chic’ oral care product, respondents experienced a reduction in plaque and debris within just three weeks. Additionally, most respondents noticed other benefits, such as teeth whitening or brightening, reducing bad breath, preventing plaque formation, and alleviating tooth sensitivity,” explained Dr Yessie, the innovator behind the “c et chic” product.

Black zedoary oil, extracted from its rhizome, has been proven effective as an antibacterial, anti-plaque, and anti-inflammatory agent. This research has gained national and international recognition through publications in scientific journals, as well as being awarded as one of the 113 most prospective innovations in Indonesia by the Business Innovation Center.

In addition to its health benefits, this innovation supports the independence of local raw materials by utilizing hydroxyapatite produced through a patented microwave method. With the introduction of “c et chic,” it is hoped that the prevalence of dental caries in Indonesia will decrease, especially considering the high rate of tooth decay, particularly among children. This product will soon be marketed to provide an affordable and effective solution for the public.
