The Board of Trustees (MWA) of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) inaugurated the newly elected Vice Rectors of  IPB in Andi Hakim Nasoetion Building, IPB Campus, Dramaga, Bogor, 0n 2 Februry 2018.  The newly inaugurated Vice Rectors are Dr. Ir. Drajat Martianto, M.Sc, Vice Rectors for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Ir. Agus Purwito, M.Sc, Vice Rector for Resources, Planning and Finance; Prof. Dr. Ir. Dodik Ridho Nurrochmat M.ScF.Trop, IPU, Vice Rector for Cooperation and Information System; and Prof. Dr. Erika Budiarti Laconi, Vice Rector for Innovation, Business and Entrepreneurship, MS. Vice Rectors assist the rector with matters that belong to the jurisdiction of the rector. The term of office of a vice rector is, at the most as long as the rector’s.

Prof Dodik who previously served as Director of Strategic and Agricultural Policy Studies IPB, now he is officially appointed as Vice Rector for Cooperation and Information Systems.

Prof Dodik Ridho Nurrochmat was born in Ponorogo, East Java Prof Dodik Ridho Nurrochmat, started his non-formal education at Madrasah Diniyah, Tamanarum, Ponorogo, and his formal education as well at SDN Mangkujayan 1, Ponorogo, in 1977 and completed his elementary school in 1983. Subsequently, he completed his junior high school from SMPN 1, Ponorogo, in 1986, and his high school from SMAN 1, Ponorogo, in 1989. In the same year he was admitted into IPB, as an invitee by the Interest and Capacity Search Scheme (PMDK).

While he had been the undergraduate student of IPB, Prof. Dodik had been active in various student organizations, including the Chairman of Himpunan Mahasiswa Islam (HMI Islamic Students Association). Bogor Chapter of Commisariat of the Faculty of Forestry of Bogor Agricultural University (FAHUTAN IPB); Chairman of the Fahutan Student Senate; Secretary General Rimbawan Muda Indonesia (RMI The Indonesian Institute of Forest and Environment); Chairman of SC / co-founder of ASEAN Forestry Students Association (AFSA); and the International Assistant Representative of the Forestry Students Association (IFSA) for the Asia Pacific Region.

While he had been student of IPB, he was selected as the prominent student of FAHUTAN IPB in 1992 and FAHUTAN's best graduate in 1994. After completing his undergraduate program  from the Department Forest Management IPB, on 1994-1995 he was accepted and worked for the integrated wood industry group in Jakarta. Then 1995-1996, he moved into the quality management system consultant in Jakarta, where he obtained his  ISO-9000 QMS Lead Assessor Course certificate. In 1996, he returned to his alma mater as a faculty member at FAHUTAN IPB. In 1997-1999, Dodik pursued his master degree on the Forest Economics Program of Tropical Forestry Studies Program at the University of Goettingen, Germany. In 2005 he earned his Doctor Degree  in Politics of Forestry and Nature Conservation at the same university as Summa cum laude.

Prof. Dodik was promoted to the Professor Chair Holder of FAHUTAN IPB since 1 August 2017 and obtained the certificate of Professional Engineer Major (IPU) from the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII) in the same year. The professor is known to have established an extensive national and international network. In addition to teaching at the his alma mater, IPB, the alumnus of Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst (DAAD) scholar had also been entrusted as the Director of Career Development & Alumni Relations of IPB, period 2008-2013; Chairman of the Board of Experts of the Indonesian Forestry Union (PERSAKI), period 2015 – up to present; a member of the International Council of the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO), period 2005 – to present.

The Chairman of the Indonesian Student Association (PPI) in Goettingen, Germany, period 2001-2002, has been selected to be member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Forest Policy & Economics, Elsevier (2013– present); Chairman of the Editor's Board of Journal of Agricultural Policy and Environmental Policy (2014-present); Member of the Editorial Board of the Indonesian Journal of Forestry Research (2013–present), Journal of Tropical Forest Management (2006-2008 and 2017-present), Journal of Socioeconomic Forestry Info (2006-2012 and 2017-present), and Journal of Forest Policy Analysis 2012-2017); as well as reviewers of reputable international journals, among them the Journal of Forest Policy and Economics (Elsevier); Journal of Land Use Policy (Elsevier); International Forestry Review (Bio-One Publisher); Natural Resource Forum, Journal of United Nations Sustainable Development (Wiley-Blackwell Publisher).

In addition to teaching and supervising undergraduate, graduate students of IPB (the Department of Forest Management, the Department of Resource Economics and Environment, Natural and Environmental Resource Management and Business School), he also initiated academic and research cooperation with various universities locally and international. He had been invited as the guest lecturer at Universiti Malaysia, Sabah; Leeds University, UK; and Goettingen University, Germany. Finally he had been elected to be  thesis and dissertation supervisor for student of Oxford University, UK; IDHEAP Lausanne University, Switzerland; Copenhagen and Roskilde University, Denmark; Goettingen and Darmstadt University, Germany; Leeds University, UK; and Michigan University, USA.

In the established cooperation and community service, very often Prof Dodik lays his hands to help formulate solutions of socio-economic problems and agricultural policy, forestry and environment in various parts of Indonesia, from Aceh to Papua. He is also known to have a strong network with various institutions, including Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Finance, Bappenas, Bank Indonesia, DPR-RI, DPD-RI, Presidential Advisory Council and in several international institutions such as World Bank, ADB, UNREDD, GIZ, USAID, DFID, ACIAR, ITTO, CIFOR, WWF, TBI, NRDC-TNC and other institutions.

During his career, he has been author, editor, and co-authors of hundreds of popular and scientific articles including 20 books. In the last four years 2014-2017, together with colleagues and students he supervises have produced dozens of scholarly publications, including seven articles in the journals Q1 category. It is the Journal ranking which is widely used in academic circles in the evaluation of an academic journal's impact and quality. Based on Impact Factor (IF) data, the Journal Citation Reports published by Thomson Reuters provides yearly rankings of science and social science journals, in the subject categories relevant for the journal. Journal rankings are intended to reflect the place of a journal within its field, the relative difficulty of being published in that journal, and the prestige associated with it. Q1 denotes the top 25% of the IF distribution,.   

During his service for IPB, Prof. Dodik received the Satya Lancana Karya Satya 10 Year award from the President of the Republic of Indonesia in 2012, DAAD Scholarship Awards in 2001 and The International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) Fellowship Awards in 2005. (Wied)
