The Board of Trustees (MWA) of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) inaugurated the newly elected Vice Rectors of IPB in Andi Hakim Nasoetion Building, IPB Campus, Dramaga, Bogor, on 2February, 2018.  The newly inaugurated Vice Rectors are Dr. Ir. Drajat Martianto, M.Sc, Vice Rectors for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Ir. Agus Purwito, M.Sc, Vice Rector for Resources, Planning and Finance; Prof. Dr. Ir. Dodik Ridho Nurrochmat M.ScF.Trop, IPU, Vice Rector for Collaboration and Information System; and Prof. Dr. Erika Budiarti Laconi, MS., Vice Rector for Innovation, Business and Entrepreneurship.

Professor Dodik R. Nurrochmat who previously served as Director of Strategic Studies and Agricultural Policy IPB, now he is officially appointed as Vice Rector for Collaboration and Information System.  He graduated Bachelor from the Department of Forest Management, Faculty of Forestry IPB in 1994 (the best graduate).  After completing his undergraduate program, on 1994-1995 he worked for a company group of integrated wood industry in Jakarta. Then 1995-1996, he was joining in a group of quality management system consultant in Jakarta, where he obtained his ISO-9000 QMS Lead Assessor Course certificate.  In 1996, he returned to his almamater as a faculty member at the Faculty of Forestry IPB.  In 1997-1999, he pursued master degree on the Forest Economics, Tropical Forestry Studies Program at the University of Goettingen, Germany (1999).  During his study in Germany, he served also as the Chairman of the Indonesian Students Association (PPI) at Goettingen (2001-2002).  In 2005 he earned his PhD Degree in Forest Policy and Nature Conservation at the same university (summa cum laude).

Professor Dodik R. Nurrochmat was promoted as full Professor of Forest Policy at the Faculty of Forestry IPB since August, 1st 2017 and obtained the certificate of Prime Professional Engineer (IPU) from the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII) in the same year. The professor is known to have established an extensive national and international network.  In addition to teaching at IPB, the alumnus of Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst (DAAD) scholar had also been appointed as the Director of Career Development & Alumni Affairs of IPB (2008-2013); Chairman of the Board of Experts of the Indonesian Forestry Scholars Association/PERSAKI (2015-present); member of the International Council of the International Union of Forest Research Organizations/IUFRO (2005-present).

He has been being member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Forest Policy & Economics, Elsevier (2013– present); Chairman of the Editorial Board of the Jurnal Risalah Kebijakan Pertanian dan Lingkungan/Journal of Agricultural Policy and Environment (2014-present); Member of the Editorial Board of the Indonesian Journal of Forestry Research (2013–present), Jurnal Manajemen Hutan Tropika/Journal of Tropical Forest Management (2006-2008 and 2017-present), Jurnal Info Sosial Ekonomi Kehutanan/Journal of Forestry Socio-economic Info (2006-2012 and 2017-present), and Jurnal Analisis Kebijakan Kehutanan/Journal of Forest Policy Analysis (2012-2017); as well as reviewers of reputable international journals, such as the Journal of Forest Policy and Economics (Elsevier); Journal of Land Use Policy (Elsevier); Geoforum (Elsevier); International Forestry Review (Bio-One Publisher); Natural Resource Forum, Journal of United Nations Sustainable Development (Wiley-Blackwell Publisher); Society and Natural Resources (Taylor & Francis).

In addition to teaching and supervising undergraduate, graduate, and post graduate students of IPB (the Department of Forest Management, the Department of Resource and Environmental Economics, Natural Resource and Environmental Management Program, and Business School), he also initiated academic and research cooperation with various national and internationally recognized universities. He had been invited as the guest lecturer/researcher at University of Malaysia Sabah; Leeds University, UK; and Goettingen University, Germany and being counterpart/joint supervisor of some research projects of the student’s thesis and dissertation of Oxford University, UK; IDHEAP Lausanne University, Switzerland; Copenhagen and Roskilde University, Denmark; Goettingen and Darmstadt University, Germany; Leeds University, UK; and Michigan University, USA.

To establish cooperation and community service, he often involves in formulating policy options and providing appropriate solutions for socio-economic, agricultural, as well as forestry and environmental problems in many regions in Indonesia, from Aceh to Papua. He is also known to have a strong network with various institutions, including Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Finance, Bappenas, Bank Indonesia, DPR-RI, DPD-RI, Presidential Advisory Council and in several international institutions such as World Bank, ADB, UNREDD, GIZ, USAID, DFID, ACIAR, ITTO, CIFOR, WWF, TBI, NRDC-TNC and other institutions.

During his career, he has been author, editor, and co-authors of hundreds of popular and scientific articles, including 20 books. In the last four years (2014-2018), together with his colleagues and students he supervised, have written dozens of scholarly publications, including nine articles in the journals, Q1 category –the best category of the journal ranking which is widely referred by the academia.  During his services for IPB, he received awards of the Satya Lancana Karya Satya “10 Years” in 2012 and “20 Years” in 2018 from the President of the Republic of Indonesia, DAAD Scholarship Awards in 2001 and the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) Fellowship Awards in 2005.
