Sandi Octa Susila

Alumnus of Agronomy and Horticulture Study Program, Batch 48

Sandi is one of the figures that must be looked up to by young generations especially in agriculture. His work in the field of horticultural agriculture led him to become a Millennial Farmer Ambassador at the Millennial Farmers Jamboree held by the Agricultural Human Resources and Development Agency (BPPSDMP) Ministry of Agriculture in 2019. Sandi has developed his business to focus on the middle to upper market. He has been supplying agricultural goods for hotels, restaurants, and caterings.

He markets his business products through Mitra Tani Parahyangan company. The business was started when he was a 5th semester student. Utilizing e-commerce that was starting to grow back then, he started selling his father’s agricultural goods. He did that to increase the price of potatoes, sweet potatoes, cabbages, tomatoes, and chilli.  Politeness, humility, and friendliness with employees are his characteristics.

Currently, Sandi is pursuing a master’s degree at IPB University. He argues that when agriculture is well-integrated with science, acceleration to success will be rapid.
