IPB University Signs Cooperation Agreement with Tohoku University Japan

In order to strengthen its position as a world-class university, IPB University establishes a strategic partnership with Tohoku University, one of the best higher education institutions in Japan.
The signing of this memorandum of understanding (MoU) was conducted on (4/17) in Sendai, Japan, directly signed by the Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria, and the President of Tohoku University, Teiji Tominaga. This event was witnessed by the Indonesian Ambassador to Japan, Heri Akhmadi, and the Education and Cultural Attaché, Amzul Arifin.
The Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria, stated that this cooperation is an important step in strengthening the international network of IPB University.
“Cooperation with Tohoku University will open up great opportunities in scientific development, deeper research collaboration, as well as expanding global experiences for the academic community of IPB University. Moreover, Tohoku is the number one university in Japan, it is a very potential strategic partner,” said Prof Arif.
Tohoku University consistently ranks first as the best university in Japan according to the Times Higher Education (THE) rankings for four consecutive years.
Prof Arif Satria also conveyed that this MoU reflects the commitment of both universities to expand international collaboration in the fields of education, research, and technology.
The IPB University delegation present on this occasion included Prof Deni Noviana, Vice Rector for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof Slamet Budijanto, Acting Dean of the School of Engineering. The signing took place in an atmosphere full of cooperative spirit and mutual respect between the two institutions.
The IPB University delegation was also invited to visit the advanced Synchrotron Radiation Facility NanoTerasu owned by Tohoku University. This facility is a leading research center in Japan used for multidisciplinary research, including in the fields of agriculture, food, and advanced materials.
