IPB University Delegation Audience to Vice Chairman of MPR RI Discussing the Role of Campus in Navigating the Nation’s Future

IPB University delegation conducted an audience with the Vice Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) (RI) as well as the Chairman of the Democratic Party Faction in the House of Representatives (DPR) RI, Dr H Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono (4/15).
This audience is a form of official invitation to the figure who is often called Mas Ibas to participate as a resource person in the kick-off event of the 50th Anniversary Celebration of IPB University’s Graduate School (SPs) themed “Navigating the Future: Science, Policy, and Innovation” on April 29.
The delegation was led by Prof Iskandar Z Siregar (Vice Rector for Global Connectivity, Cooperation, and Alumni), accompanied by Prof Dodik R Nurrochmat (Dean of SPs), Prof Yusli Wardiatno (Vice Dean of SPs), drh Sukma Kamajaya, MM (Director of Alumni Relations), as well as Chairman and members of the SPs Student Forum, Firman Soejana, ST, MT and Verry Surya Hendrawan, ST, MM.
In the warm meeting, Mas Ibas expressed his appreciation for the progress of IPB University. As an alumnus, he claimed to be very proud that IPB University is a campus that continues to be a source of intellectual wisdom, a ‘Champion of Ideas’, and a big house for the collaboration of science, action, and harmony.
“I suggest that the SPs Anniversary be filled with inspirational activities such as Harmony Fest, eco-marathon, to exhibitions of agromaritime works that arouse public awareness,” he said.
He also hopes that IPB University will further strengthen the alumni network and become an example of diversity that unites the spirit of national progress.
“A quality university like IPB University must be able to unite the frequency of all Indonesian people to jointly jump to make Indonesia a prosperous country,” he explained.
Prof Iskandar responded by conveying the importance of harmony between alma mater and alumni. “We really appreciate the attention and support from Mas Ibas.”
He continued, “IPB University will continue to strengthen scientific knowledge and global networks, including the development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology and the construction of smart facilities on campus,” he said.
Meanwhile, Prof Dodik Ridho Nurrochmat added that alumni like Prof Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono are an inspiration in the development of postgraduate education. “We hope that IPB University students can learn national insight directly at the MPR,” he added.
This audience is a continuation of the previous meeting with Prof Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, the 6th President of Indonesia at Puri Cikeas, Bogor. As a result of the visit, IPB University will cooperate with The Yudhoyono Institute in terms of addressing various national and global issues based on science and technology developed at IPB University.
