IPB University’s Expansion on the International Stage, This is the Focus of Cooperation in 2025

In 2025, IPB University will focus more on developing international cooperation with Asian countries, including China, Southeast Asia (Asean), India, and the Middle East.

This was conveyed by the Vice Rector for Global Connectivity, Collaboration and Alumni Relations, Prof Iskandar Z Siregar, in the Leaders’s Discussion with Mass Media (13/3) at Cafe Taman Koleksi, IPB Baranangsiang Campus, Bogor.

“One of the most important activities of the Tridarma of Higher Education is cooperation. Therefore, IPB University will continue to increase cooperation among universities in the international arena,” he said.

Prof Iskandar explained that this year IPB University has collaborated with more than 80 consortiums at the global level. This progress led IPB University to become a university with the best international cooperation.

“In 2024, IPB University won the Gold Winner of the Cooperation Award from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek) as a university with the best international cooperation and cooperation with industry,” he said.

In addition, IPB University has also successfully internationalized more than 1.000 students, giving them the opportunity to gain experience abroad. Prof Iskandar added that this cooperation further strengthens IPB University’s position in the world of international education.

“We prepare the best ecosystem for students to easily study abroad, one of which is by providing passports for free,” he said.

In Asia, IPB University has established partnerships with a number of well-known universities, such as the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Seoul National University (SNU), two of Asia’s top universities.

Prof Iskandar also mentioned that IPB University managed to maintain its position at number 1 in Southeast Asia, 10 in Asia, and 49 in the world in Agriculture and Forestry, which is almost equal to the reputation of the two partners.

Along with the increasing international reputation, Prof Iskandar admitted that IPB University is currently flooded with requests for international guest visits. “Our mandate is to step up to a higher level and we have also designed for future achievements,” he concluded. (AS/dh) (IAAS/NRA)
