IPB University Distributes Compensation for 1.120 Orphans in 21 Lingkar Kampus Villages

IPB University again showed its concern for the surrounding community through the IPB Caring for Orphans program. This year, as many as 1.120 children in 21campus circle villages assistance in the form of compensation funds and Al-Qur’an copies.
Leader of the Waqf and Social Fund Unit of IPB University, Prof Alla Asmara said, to ensure the distribution is right on target, this program involves various elements at IPB University. In its implementation, the team collected and validated data directly in the village.
“This year, the number of recipients reached 1.120 children, exceeding the initial target of 1.100 children with the number of donors reaching 747 people. The total funds that have been collected amounted to Rp634 million. Each recipient gets assistance of Rp350 thousand as well as Al-Qur’an copies,” he said during the Ceremony of IPB Caring for Orphans Program Compensation in 2025 at IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor (19/3).
In addition to the compensation program, continued Prof Alla, IPB University also received a drinking water station from Al Hilal Orphan Foundation. This facility will be placed in the Library of IPB University, considering that the location has high student traffic.
“The existence of this drinking water station can support student welfare and strengthen the culture of sharing in the campus environment,” he said.
IPB University Vice Rector for Global Connectivity, Collaboration and Alumni Relations, Prof Iskandar Z Siregar, said that in collecting various donations, IPB University continues to collaborate with the Alumni Association through various social activities.
“I would like to thank all levels of IPB University, the fundraising team, as well as all committees and partners who have contributed to the donation activities,” he said.
In addition, continued Prof Iskandar, the Productive Waqf program is also a major concern in building a healthy financial ecosystem. This program can be an important source of funding amid the dynamics of economic policies that are developing in society.
Meanwhile, the Foundation Advisor of Yatim Al Hilal Foundation, Haji Nandang, hoped that the various programs run by IPB University, one of which is IPB Cares for Orphan Compensation, can benefit all elements of society.
