Confused about Entrusting Your Animals During Homecoming? RSHP IPB University is the Answer!

The Teaching Animal Hospital (RSHP) of the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (SKHB) at IPB University offers a pet boarding service during the holiday season. This facility is the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia.
“RSHP provides a spacious facility with ample cage capacity. Additionally, it features a dedicated play area for pets, which sets our hospital apart from typical veterinary clinics,” said Prof Gunanti, Director of RSHP IPB University, at the IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor.
“We also have specialist veterinarians and dedicated clinics for specific conditions, such as a cardiology center, dermatology clinic, Diagnostic Imaging Center (DIC), a comprehensive laboratory, and other supporting facilities,” she added.
Prof Gunanti further explained that due to its vast space, pets boarded at RSHP can take supervised walks in the garden every morning and evening with paramedics. This helps reduce stress and maintain their appetite.
A variety of animals can be boarded at RSHP, including dogs, cats, rabbits, turtles, iguanas, horses, cows, sheep, goats, and even pigs.
Before boarding a pet, Prof Gunanti outlined several requirements that must be met. Pets must be in good health and have received at least their first vaccination.
“Pets must also be treated for fleas and dewormed at least one month before admission. Additionally, if an illness is detected during the check-up, the pet must undergo necessary treatment,” she emphasized.
The boarding facilities include individual cages, separate food and water containers, supervision by veterinarians, and both dry and wet food. Owners are also allowed to bring their own pet food.
Regarding cage capacity, Prof Gunanti explained that RSHP IPB University has 44 dog kennels (upper and lower levels), 9 canine digestion rooms, 6 feline care rooms, 2 canine respiratory rooms, 4 feline dermatology rooms, 7 air-conditioned kennels, 17 treatment rooms, 4 foldable cages, and 2 nebulization cages.
“The facility can accommodate up to 100 cats, 50 dogs, 10 horses, and 6 cows, with additional enclosures for turtles and iguanas,” she explained.
