IPB University Welcomes Benchmarking Visit from University of Christian Satya Wacana

IPB University welcomed a benchmarking visit from University of Christian Satya Wacana. This visit was welcomed directly by the Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria in the Rector’s Conference Room, IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor (14/1).

Greeting the delegation from University of Christian Satya Wacana, Prof Arif Satria welcomed them to IPB Dramaga Campus. He revealed the education program policy at IPB University. 

“Education at IPB University integrates academic and non-academic activities into one curriculum. Therefore, IPB University graduates are not graduates who only graduate from lecture classes, but graduates who have passed from living at IPB University Campus so that they have good hard skills and soft skills,” he said.

He added, the learning strategy at IPB University begins with talent mapping in the first year to find out the interests and talents of new students. From the mapping results, the highest student career interest is in the field of entrepreneurship (43 percent).

From the research aspect, IPB University formulated a new research agenda called Agromaritime 4.0. The goal is to answer real-world challenges using digital solutions based on artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, robotics, and automation.

“This agenda puts students at the forefront, ensuring they are proficient in emerging technologies such as precision agriculture, smart equipment, and smart plantation practices,” he explained.

Prof Intiyas Utami, Rector of Satya Wacana Christian University expressed her appreciation for the warm welcome given by IPB University. 

“Our campus is a center and miniature of Indonesia’s diversity. The campus must be able to provide a field for learning so that students who graduate from our campus have an impact,” she explained.

“For this reason, we cannot walk alone and we want to learn how science grows and develops at IPB University,” he said again. (AS) (IAAS/RUM)
