IPB University and SNU Hold ISAI 2025, Agendize the Development of Agriculture and Bioscience Center

IPB University in collaboration with the International Cooperation Agency and IPB-SNU Center for Agriculture and Bioscience (KOICA-ICAB) organized the International Symposium on Innovative Approaches to Livestock Industry (ISAI) 2025.
The event aimed to serve as a platform for discussion and strategic planning, to encourage innovation on innovative approaches to the livestock industry. The activity was held at the IPB International Convention Center (IICC), Bogor some time ago.
In his speech, Prof Byung-Chul Park from the Graduate School of International (GSIAT) of Seoul National University (SNU) said that the event aimed to improve the capacity and performance of research and development (R&D) by establishing the Center for Agriculture and Biosciences at IPB as well as providing training programs to scientists and researchers in Indonesia.
“’The symposium features presentations from speakers who will share their valuable knowledge and expertise in agriculture and biosciences. Hopefully the participants can gain meaningful insights and knowledge from this symposium,” he explained.
Prof Deni Noviana, Vice Rector of IPB University for Education and Student Affairs in his speech said, this symposium is a momentum to strengthen collaboration while paving the way for impactful research initiatives.
“Hopefully, from the results of this discussion, important points will be achieved in building an agricultural and bioscience center and (this collaboration) can provide training programs for scientists and researchers in Indonesia,” he said.
Prof Kyoung Hoon Kim, a speaker from Seoul National University, said the discussion could help overcome pressing challenges while opening up opportunities in the livestock sector. He emphasized the importance of exchanging ideas, engaging in meaningful dialogue, and exploring transformative solutions to support sustainable development practices.
Professor of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry at IPB University, Prof Epi Taufik, highlighted the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program. He mentioned that in the January-April period, the government had provided 3 million MBG packages to nearly 6 million child beneficiaries. By 2025, the target beneficiaries of this program are set to reach 15 to 17 million children. (AS) (IAAS/RUM)
