Fapet IPB University Signs Cooperation Agreement for Product Effectiveness of Water Purification System with Panasonic
Faculty of Animal Science (Fapet) IPB University agreed to cooperate with PT Panasonic Gobel Indonesia. The signing of the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) was held in the Fapet Conference Room, IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor (15/1).
Vice Dean of Faculty of Animal Sciences for Academic, Student Affairs, and Alumni, Prof Irma Isnafia Arief, explained that the cooperation is a research on the effectiveness of Panasonic’s water purification system (WPS) products to increase productivity and microbiological safety of milk in dairy farms.
Dean of Fapet IPB University, Prof Idat Galih Permana welcomed the cooperation. “This is our second cooperation agreement on WPS research. Previous research on broilers and laying hens had a good impact on production and also for product quality. We hope this WPS will also have a good impact on milk production and quality,” he said.
“Milk quality is an important aspect in determining milk prices. A few months ago we heard that in East Java and Central Java there were some farmers who threw away their milk because of the quality and we know that the microbial content in milk is very important,” he explained.
Prof Idat further explained the regulations regarding the amount of bacteria in milk and how it relates to the cooperation that will be implemented. “We are very suitable with this equipment, it can reduce the bacteria content and after that it also has an impact on mastitis in milk production,” he concluded.
The event was attended and witnessed by Dr Hirofumi Fujita, a researcher representing Panasonic, and several lecturers from the Department of Animal Production and Technology (IPTP) Fapet, which are Dr Iyep Komala, Dr Reza Adiyoga, and lecturer from the Department of Nutrition and Feed Technology (INTP) Fapet Dr Annisa Rosmalia.
This research collaboration aims to analyze the productivity of using the Panasonic water purification system (WPS) on dairy farms. This is to determine whether Panasonic WPS affects the production and quality of milk produced after using Panasonic WPS.
The research location will be conducted at a smallholder dairy farm in Kunak, Cibungbulang, Bogor, West Java which is a small and medium scale smallholder farm. (Femmy/Rz) (IAAS/RUM)
