Supporting Student Career Development, Directorate of International Education IPB University Holds LinkedIn Learning Seminar
The Directorate of International Education of IPB University successfully held a series of Linkedin Learning seminars for the Undergraduate Chapter of Dramaga Campus, the Vocational School (SV) Chapter of Gunung Gede Campus, and the SV Chapter of Sukabumi Campus.
The seminar entitled “Build Your Personal Brand on LinkedIn and Achieve Your Career Goals with LinkedIn Learning” was held through the collaboration of various student organizations with related schools and faculties.
The seminar took place in a hybrid manner in three different locations, namely the IPB University International Student Center Building, the Zeta SV IPB University Building, and the SV IPB University Sukabumi Hall.
The event was intended to help IPB University students utilize the LinkedIn platform to build strong personal branding while achieving their career goals.
“In the ever-evolving digital world, personal branding through LinkedIn is the key to demonstrating relevant skills, interests, and professional networks for potential employers or collaborators,” said Puji Mudiana, SP, MA, Director of International Education at IPB University.
In this activity, she continued, participants were invited to understand various strategies for building an attractive and professional LinkedIn profile. In addition, how to maximize Linkedin Learning to get professional certificates that can support careers is also presented.
The material session was delivered by Account Director of LinkedIn Learning Singapore, Juliane. She explained how to use LinkedIn Learning as a skills development platform to increase competitiveness in the job market.
The seminar also included interesting topics such as creating a strong personal brand, optimizing Linkedin profile for professional appeal, and how to activate and utilize Linkedin Learning.
Furthermore, strategies for utilizing Linkedin Learning to improve skills, the importance of professional certificates from Linkedin Learning, and effective networking strategies through Linkedin were also presented at the seminar session.
This activity also became a golden opportunity for IPB University students to understand the importance of building a professional image in the digital world and utilizing learning technology optimally.
Through this activity, it also emphasizes IPB University’s commitment in producing graduates who are ready to compete in the global era.
One of the participants, Nafal, a student of the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) batch 59, said that she obtained a lot of information, especially the use of Linkedin Learning which can produce professional certificates to support career preparation and internships.
The series of seminars attracted the participation of 450 students from undergraduate and vocational levels, ranging from semester one to seven.
In addition, there was also a LinkedIn Learning activation booth that was held from August to December 2024. Students were invited to utilize LinkedIn Learning facilities to improve their competence and competitiveness in the world of work.
As a result, there was a significant increase in the number of LinkedIn Learning activations, from 28 percent to 61 percent, or equivalent to 2.805 active students who had activated their accounts during the period.
