In order to build superior human resources (HR) for Golden Indonesia 2025, IPB University together with the Indonesian Pesantren Caregivers Association (P2I) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU).

On this occasion, IPB University and P2I committed to establishing cooperation related to the tridarma of higher education including education, research, and community service. The MoU signing ceremony was held in the Academic Senate Conference Room, IPB Dramaga Campus (6/1).

Prof Arif Satria, Rector of IPB University, said that cooperation in the field of education, especially related to scholarships, is a very important aspect.

This, explained Prof Arif, not only opens access for santri graduates of Islamic boarding schools to continue their education in higher education, but also equips them with knowledge and skills to return and contribute to building their Islamic boarding schools.

“IPB University is ready to provide special schemes for boarding schools. That is IPB University’s contribution to the boarding school and a good start to strengthen the boarding school. Today’s momentum is about building food and Islamic boarding schools have a strategic role to build food independence,” he said.

Komjen Pol (Ret.) Dr Syafruddin Kambo, Chairman of ASFA Foundation and P2I Trustee expressed his gratitude and deep appreciation. He was honored to be able to establish cooperation with IPB University.

“The number of Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia currently amounts to more than 37.000 and the number recorded at this time is 4,1 million students and 170 Islamic boarding schools that already have universities,” he explained.

He added that the current condition of pesantren has advanced in its development. He hopes that the state will continue to be present for pesantren so as to create parity and equality and justice in the world of education. Thus, he said, the ideals of the Golden Indonesia 2045 can be realized. (AS/Rz) (IAAS/RUM)
