Endgame Goes to Campus Present at IPB University, Encouraging Dialogue on Education Policy in Indonesia
IPB University in collaboration with Tanoto Foundation and Pemimpin.id held Endgame Goes to Campus, held at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, IPB Dramaga Campus (16/01).
This activity is part of the Policy Forum on Education which aims to encourage dialog and collaboration in formulating education policy in Indonesia.
Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria in his speech said that IPB University participated in building interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary science education. Evidently, currently IPB University is ranked first in Indonesia in THE Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2025 by Time Higher Education.
“Interdisciplinary science is an approach that integrates various disciplines to solve complex problems. In the context of education and research, interdisciplinary science focuses on collaboration between various fields of study, such as agriculture, environmental science, economics, social, and technology, to create more holistic and innovative solutions,” he said.
Tanoto Foundation Head of Policy and Advocacy Eddy Henry said that quality education can equalize opportunities for all individuals. In this case, students have an important role as agents of change in driving educational transformation.
“We see that students also have an important role in ensuring that policies issued by the government are appropriate and based on needs,” he said.
Host and Executive Producer of Endgame, Gita Wirjawan said that education requires openness in its process and implementation.
According to him, it is important for children to have a mindset that encourages them to pursue education with passion and awareness.
“Reading culture must be part of everyday life. Without a culture of reading, they will not be able to play an optimal role in the nation, state, and civilization,” he said.
CEO of Think Policy, Andhyta F Utami said that the education sector must continue to evolve to adapt to various problems that arise, especially in the field of environment and policy formulation.
She considered that the role of education is very important in preparing a generation that can make a real contribution to various problems.
“The education sector must also be able to answer the existing challenges. For example, if the environment is damaged, education must play a role in providing solutions and closing the existing gaps,” she said. (dr) (IAAS/RUM)
