IPB University Graduate School Holds Socialization of Regulations and Implementation of Student Research Result Seminars
The Graduate School (SPs) of IPB University held a socialization of regulations and implementation of student research results seminars for the 2024/2025 Academic Year (3-4/12). This activity is one of the mandatory requirements for registration of results seminars for doctoral and master’s program students.
The activity was carried out offline, attended by 1.899 active students of doctoral and master programs divided into 15 groups. This activity also involved 57 seminar lecturers as socialization presenters.
Prof Yusli Wardiatno, Vice Dean of SPs IPB University in the field of Academic, Student Affairs, and Alumni said that this socialization is required for all active students in the hope that they can understand the provisions that must be done before the implementation of their research results seminar.
“SPs will provide this socialization four times a year. We hope that with this socialization, students can understand and be skilled in presenting their research results both orally and in writing,” he said in a separate statement.
Prof Yusli added, the research result seminar activity will provide an opportunity for students to accommodate input from the academic forum to improve their research reports, both theses for master’s programs and dissertations for doctoral programs before carrying out the final exam.
“The implementation of the results seminar at SPs IPB University has five scientific groups, namely plant or crop science; animal and health science; engineering science, information technology and planning; social science humanities; and economics, management, business and policy,” he added.
On the same occasion, Nur Sulianti Suci Pertiwi, SP as the Chief of the Subdivision of Education and Student Affairs of SPs IPB University explained the criteria for evaluating the results seminar. The assessment is related to the quality of the seminar paper which includes the format of paper writing.
In addition, student performance during the seminar was also assessed, such as the quality of paper presentation and the quality of answers to questions submitted by seminar participants.
“The writing of the result seminar paper is the essence of all or part of the student’s thesis or dissertation. The paper is written in standard Indonesian or English in accordance with the writing format in the Guidelines for Writing Scientific Work (PPKI) for the final assignment of students that has been published by IPB University, “ he explained.
