LKST IPB University Holds Business Matching, 20 Startups Expose Business Potentials

IPB University’s Science and Technology Area Institute (LKST) held a Business Matching for 20 startups at the Startup Center Building, IPB Campus Taman Kencana, Bogor (26/11). In this event, the startups also had the opportunity to present their pitches to industry partners.

Head of LKST IPB University, Prof Erika B Laconi said, this activity became a joint opportunity to listen to the direct presentation of 20 startups assisted by IPB University represented by each chief executive officer (CEO).

According to her, this is a matter of pride because it shows the success of downstreaming and commercialization of innovation. “The startups will explain their business models, provide inspiration, and show great potential to continue to grow,” he said.

Prof Erika also emphasized that this commitment will not stop at the signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoU).

“Our task together is to ensure the next step, which is to make the MoU a memorandum of agreement (MoA), so that the planned collaboration can be well realized,” she said.

Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria expressed his pride because the entrepreneurs fostered by IPB University had begun to be export-oriented. According to him, this step shows a significant positive change in mindset and business strategy.

“I really appreciate this shift in orientation. It shows a high spirit to move forward and compete in the global market,” he added.

Prof Arif also emphasized the importance of looking to the future with optimism. In his view, high competence and accurate data are key to supporting startup development. 

“With these two aspects, economic growth can be pushed in a better direction, while opening up great opportunities for young entrepreneurs to develop further,” he said.

Assistant of Business Incubation Division of LKST IPB University, Deva Primadia Almada, SPi, MSi explained that in business matching, each startup was given a maximum of five minutes to present their pitch deck in front of potential business partners. 

“The pitch deck must be designed briefly, concisely, and interestingly, so as to provide a clear picture of the value, potential, and uniqueness of their business in a limited time,” he said. (dr/Rz) (IAAS/ZQA)
