IPB University Won Three Medals at the National Entrepreneurship Competition KMI Expo 2024
IPB University once again carved out brilliant achievements at the national level. In the Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship (KMI) Expo competition 2024 that took place at Halu Oleo Kendari University, the IPB student team won three medals at once, namely one gold medal and two bronze medals.
This achievement makes us even more proud because the IPB University student teams are part of the 2024 Entrepreneur Student Development Program (P2MW) grant recipients.
Previously, they had passed the rigorous selection in the P2MW Implementation Progress Assessment (PKP) which became one of the paths to qualify for the KMI Expo. IPB University itself is the university with the most funded group in the P2MW program, which is 19 business teams.
In this event, two bronze medals were won by the “University ID” team and the “Jenthik” team who are participants in the Digital Business and Creative Industry categories.
Tim University ID, a startup engaged in education, won 3rd place in the Growing Stage Digital Business category. This achievement was gained by their business achievements, one of which was the traction that reached more than 1 million visitors on Instagram.
In addition, the Jenthik team is a fashion business such as bags, hats, and obi belts made from used jeans and batik. Their fashion products became the best-selling at Expo KMI, making the Jenthik team successful in winning the 3rd place in the Creative Industry category.
The next medal was won by the Concreto de Craft team, a participant in the competition supporting the Digital Business Poster category by bringing its signature product, namely crafting products from recycled used materials.
“This achievement shows that IPB University students not only excel in the academic field, but also have a strong and innovative entrepreneurial spirit,” said Dr Ujang Suwarna, Director of Student Affairs of IPB University.
He said, the P2MW program has become an important foundation in preparing students to face this competition. “Hopefully this success will be an inspiration for other students to continue to create and innovate the idea,” he hoped.
KMI Expo 2024 is a real proof that the creativity of Indonesian students continues to grow and is able to provide concrete solutions to various community problems.
The participation of participants from the P2MW program to the KMI Expo also shows the importance of IPB University’s coaching and support in encouraging the young generation of entrepreneurship.
The achievements of students at this KMI Expo are expected to be able to motivate other universities to develop similar programs, in order to create a sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem in Indonesia. (*/Rz) (IAAS/IAN)
