IPB University MSP Students Successfully Implement MBKM at BPKIL Serang
IPB University students from the Aquatic Resource Management (MSP) Study Program, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK) successfully implemented the Freedom of Learning – Independence Campus (MBKM) program at the Fish Health and Environmental Testing Center (BPKIL) Serang.
This program aims to implement and provide scientific and empirical enrichment (hard skills and soft skills). In addition, the MBKM program is also carried out in order to improve the competencies needed by the world of industry and work (DUDI), in line with the concept of blue economy or blue economy.
A total of six MSP IPB University students participated in the MBKM program for three months, from September to December 2024. They were involved in various activities such as testing in water quality, residue, and biomolecular laboratories to support the sustainability of aquatic ecosystems.
One of the students participating in the program, Rizky Maulana Yusup, said that this experience was very valuable. “We learned a lot about laboratory testing, how to maintain fish health, and how to ensure that aquatic ecosystems are maintained,” he said.
Through this MBKM program, MSP IPB University students have successfully demonstrated their dedication in supporting sustainable aquatic resource management. The success of this program is expected to be the first step for closer cooperation between FPIK IPB University and BPKIL in the future.
With the MBKM program at BPKIL, students not only gain hands-on experience in the field of fisheries and the environment, but also play a role in supporting the development of science and technology in the sector. (*/Rz) (IAAS/SNI)
