IPB University Graduate School Students Participate in The 1st International Islamic Conference
Both IPB University Graduate School students, Muhamad Rafi Anggara and Nuraeni participated in The 1st International Islamic Conference. This event raised the theme “Intellectuality and Religiosity in the Muslim World and Their Contribution to the Development of Sustainable Civilization”.
The event organized by Forum Gathering Association of Muslim Graduate Students (Forsi Himmpas) Indonesia and Salman Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) took place in a hybrid manner at Salman ITB Multipurpose Building.
In the conference, Rafi, a student of the Master of Management Science Study Program at IPB University presented a research entitled “Strategic Empowerment of Mosques as Educational Hubs: A SWOT Case Study on Rural Community Development”.
This research is the result of the implementation of the Bimbel Masjid program, an innovative idea that he initiated to provide free mosque-based tutoring for rural communities.
“Mosques are not only places of worship, but also centers of education and community empowerment. With this program, we hope that mosques can be more relevant and useful for the surrounding community,” said Rafi.
Nuraeni, a student of IPB University’s Master of Economics Program, who also actively supports the program, utilizes her expertise in economics to help develop the program’s strategy.
“We want to ensure that what we do not only has a social impact, but also has economic sustainability. This collaboration is our way of contributing to society,” says Nuraeni.
The husband-and-wife team who received the Indonesian Education Scholarship (BPI) from the Education Fund Management Agency (LPDP) utilized the conference opportunity to share ideas and expand their academic network at the international level.
This conference is an important moment for both of them to emphasize the role of students in encouraging sustainability based on religious values, especially through empowering mosques as centers of community civilization. (*/Rz) (IAAS/RUM)
