Improving Village Human Resources, IPB University Graduated the 4th Batch of SPD Village Apparatus
In an effort to improve village human resources (HR), IPB University held the 4th batch of Village Government School (SPD) Graduation in 2024 at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM), IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor.
Acting Bogor Regent, Bachril Bakri said the Village Government School is a non-degree education program specifically designed for village officials.
The program aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to manage village government effectively and efficiently, particularly in the areas of governance, development, and data-based planning.
“The Village Government School is held as evidence of the local government’s commitment to improve the ability and capacity of village officials in Bogor Regency,” he said.
He added that this program is fully supported by experts from IPB University who provide intensive assistance to participants. This is in line with IPB University’s commitment to contribute to regional development through human resource development.
Vice Rector of IPB University for Resource Resilience and Infrastructure, Dr Alim Setiawan said, with the knowledge and experience gained during this program, participants are expected to bring significant changes to their respective villages.
“The SPD program has become an important part of the SDGs Award received by IPB University for three consecutive years,” he explained. He added that the SPD program was one of the innovations that became an important point in the award.
“So, you can be proud, because what has been done through SPD has received recognition from the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas). We strongly support this sustainability in the future,” he added.
Dean of the Faculty of Human Ecology (Fema) IPB University, Prof Sofyan Sjaf also said that this effort was part of the achievement of the collaboration between IPB University and the Bogor District Government. He considered, this program was very important to encourage human resources in the village to be better.
“This program can strengthen the capacity of village officials in data-based village governance. It is hoped that the village apparatus will become the driving force,” he explained.
He added that from 2021 to 2024, 660 village officials and 220 villages have participated in this SPD program. In the future, he hopes that the reach can be widened, one of which is by increasing the gender composition so that more opportunities for women to participate in the SPD program. (AS/Rz) (IAAS/RUM)
