Directorate of Human Resources Holds a Seminar on Competitive Grants for Functional and Executive Positions for Tendik IPB University

The Directorate of Human Resources (SDM) of IPB University held a Seminar on Competitive Grants for Functional Positions and Education Personnel Executives in 2024. This activity took place at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor (26/11).

Prof Arif Satria, Rector of IPB University stated the importance of the participation of educational personnel (tendik) in the development of this research competitive grant. Because, it is important to support the career of tendiks who hold functional positions.

“Upskilling and reskilling for tendik in the era that continues to develop is very important so that we are able to survive. Right now, you also need to have the will to keep learning,” he said.

He added that educational personnel need to continue to transform through joint efforts in order to realise the institution as a World Class University.

Dr Alim Setiawan Slamet, Vice Rector of IPB University in Resource and Infrastructure Resilience explained, competitive grants are programs to advance tendik competencies in the field of professional development.

Initially, he explained, this program is only intended for those who have functional positions. However, in 2024 this program penetrates with the participation of implementers (who do not yet have a functional position).

“Recipients of the 2024 program grant are the result of a selection review by experienced reviewers, both from functional positions and executive positions,” he explained.

He also added, the themes that are currently raised by the grantees are part of the problems in the labour unit. Thus, he hopes that it can contribute to solving the problem of the work unit.

“For example, starting from the most basic small solutions, which are needed in the workplace. Future research is expected to be able to collaborate with other units in an effort to solve existing problems,” he said.

Diyanti SKom, MM, Assistant Director of Career and Competency Development, Directorate of Human Resources said, the competitive grant implementation program has started in 2018. At that time, grants were only given to educational laboratory institutions for functional positions.

“In 2019, then it was given for all functional positions. For the year 2024, we expand again for the executive position and there are 10 executive positions that are given research grants,” she added. (*/Rz) (IAAS/TIA)
