IPB University’s HR Directorate Holds Second Workshop to Prepare for Implementing Permendikbudristek 44/2024
The Human Resources (HR) Directorate of IPB University invited deans, vice deans, department chairman, and faculty representatives from all faculties/schools within IPB University to attend the second workshop on Preparing for the Implementation of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Regulation (Permendikbudristek) Number 44 of 2024.
The workshop, titled “Understanding Faculty Position Structure, Minimum Performance Indicators for Faculty, and Criteria for Professor Publications,” took place at the IPB International Convention Center (IICC) in Bogor (7/11)
Previously, in September, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) issued Ministerial Regulation (Permendikbudristek) Number 44 of 2024 concerning the Profession, Career, and Income of Lecturers.
Dr Heti Mulyati, Director of Human Resources at IPB University, said in her opening remarks that the second workshop aimed to provide insights into implementing Permendikbudristek 44/2024.
“To facilitate the future implementation of Permendikbudristek 44/2024, we are preparing by explaining how to map faculty roles, set minimum performance indicators, and outline professor publication standards to support the institution’s vision and mission,” Dr Heti stated.
Furthermore, she stated that to implement Permendikbudristek 44/2024, the HR Directorate of IPB University will conduct a series of Faculty/School Coaching Clinics. In addition, there will be presentations and lessons learned on how implementation and support are carried out in higher education institutions.
Dr Alim Setiawan Slamet, Vice Rector for Resource and Infrastructure Resilience at IPB University, highlighted that this event aimed to build a common understanding of academic positions. He emphasized the importance of creating a role map.
“We need to establish a position map as a foundation for assessing IPB University’s faculty needs. With this map, we can determine the alignment between hiring professors or senior lecturers and the development of study programs,” he explained.
Regarding minimum standards, Dr Alim stated that IPB University is granted autonomy or freedom to set the minimum standards for Lecturer Performance Indicators and Professor Scientific Publication Criteria. This autonomy, he noted, provides an opportunity for IPB University to establish standards that truly support the institution’s vision and mission.
In his explanation, Expert Staff of the Directorate General of Higher Education Resources, Prof (Em) DJoko Santoso, conveyed that under Law Number 12 of 2012 on Higher Education, the field of science and development of scientific branches are within the authority of universities.
“The policy that restricts scientific development in relation to the number of positions in universities is the responsibility of the university within the scope of scientific fields, budget, and infrastructure,” he stated.
Meanwhile, regarding the capacity and competence of human resources in each scientific field within universities, he noted that to expand the branches of scientific knowledge, it must align with the fields outlined in the Higher Education Law. (dh/Rz) (IAAS/RUM)
