IPB University wins 1st place in Perhumas PR Excellence Awards 2024
IPB University won two awards in the PERHUMAS PR Excellence Awards 2024. In the Public Relations (PR) competition, IPB University won 1st place in the Digital PR category and 1st place in the Internal PR category. Both in the frame of the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) theme.
The award was given at the World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) 2024 event held at Merusaka Hotel, Nusa Dua, Bali, (21/11).
The Secretary of the Institute (SI) of IPB University, Prof Agus Purwito said, IPB University’s participation in every competition organized by the Indonesian Public Relations Association (PERHUMAS) is evidence of IPB University’s active role in strengthening the organization and building communication networks towards the global level.
Chairman of PERHUMAS, Boy Kelana Soebroto, MCIPR assessed that IPB University deserved two achievements at the Perhumas PR Excellence Awards this year. “IPB University meets the assessment criteria of the jury and deserves this award,” he said.
Regarding the WPRF event, Boy Kelana said that in today’s challenging era, communication practitioners and public relations must continue to uphold the values of responsible communication.
“The need for comprehensive knowledge, cross-cultural understanding, and innovative solutions is very important. We must remain guided by integrity, transparency, and accountability, and always pay attention to the ethical implications of our work,” Boy said when opening the first day of WPRF 2024 on Tuesday (19/11) in Nusa Dua, Bali.
With the theme “Purposeful Influence for the Common Good,” WPRF 2024 aims to respond to the challenges and opportunities in the global public relations industry by encouraging dialogue on innovation, ethics, and the strategic role of PR in society and organizations.
This year’s World Public Relations Forum was attended by 1.400 participants from home and abroad. A total of 22 countries sent their representatives to this year’s WPRF.
Boy added, WPRF 2024 is not only a milestone for PERHUMAS Indonesia and the Indonesian nation but also an important moment for the global public relations community.
“As we gather here today, we are reminded of PR’s evolving role in shaping global narratives, fostering understanding, and building trust across borders,” Boy explained. (dh/Rz) (IAAS/ZQA)
