IPB University Discourse Forum Holds National Seminar on Digital Transformation in Economics

Located at the Abdul Muis Nasution Auditorium, IPB Dramaga Campus, the IPB University Postgraduate Student Forum (Discourse) held an event “National Seminar: Digital Transformation in the Economy”.

The result of the discourse forum collaboration with the awardee of the IPB University Education Fund Management Institute (LPDP) was attended by around 200 participants consisting of the IPB University academic community and micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM).

Vice Rector of IPB University for Education and Student Affairs, Prof drh Deni Noviana in the opening said, in line with the mission of education at IPB University, namely educational innovation; global education; and educational transformation; the need for talent mapping for IPB University Postgraduate students.

The talent mapping program, he said, is very useful to find out the learning interests and career preferences of students. Either you want to be a professional,  entrepreneur, bureaucrat, or become a lecturer/researcher.

The Chairperson of the IPB University Discourse Forum, Delly Wakano SSi, MSi, in her speech said the importance of this activity to be carried out. “We are not only an observer but must be an active change agent and contribute to the future that is integrated with technology,” she said.

This seminar was presented by Dr Sandiaga Salahudin Uno (Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy for the period 2020–2024), Prof Yandra Arkeman (Professor of Agricultural Industrial Engineering and Computer Science IPB University), Fifin Nahiratun Nisya, SP, MSi (Owner SunGreat Natural Indonesia), and Maharani Divaningtyas, SE, BSc (Commistor Saliman Riyanto Raharjo Group).

“Transformation in the creative economy has penetrated not only in the culinary sector, but also into other sectors. Our digital economy is expected to grow in 2025, part of its growth is driven by the creative economic sector that is digitally transformed,” said Dr Sandiaga.

He also advised to utilise the current technology for creative things. “Use this digital transformation because we will lead to a more efficient business with the use of technology,” he said. (US/RZ) (IAAS/IAN)
