IPB University through the Directorate of Career Development, Entrepreneurship, and Alumni Relations again held the IPB Job Fair 2024 Batch II. This activity was held for two days (15-16/11) at the Innovation Plaza, IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor.

This activity was followed by 36 companies and agencies which were divided into careers, internships, and scholarships. This time, the series of IPB Job Fair was also attended by 36 student businesses that came from the development program at IPB University, namely the Entrepreneurial Student Program (PMW), Startup School (SS), and Independent Entrepreneur (WMK).

The Vice Chancellor of IPB University for Education and Student Affairs, Prof Deni Noviana in her speech welcomed the partners who have participated in finding the best candidates at IPB University.

She added, IPB University has implemented talent mapping for new students. From the results of talent mapping, there are four large groups of students’ desires related to their careers, namely 43 percent want to work in the professional field, 30 percent want to be an entrepreneur, 15 percent want to be a bureaucrat. And the rest want to be a researcher or lecturer around 7 percent.

“Not only stopping at talent mapping, IPB University continues to do full talent and talent assessment which was just done this year,” she explained.

Director of Career Development, Entrepreneurship, and Alumni Relations of IPB University, drh Sukma Kamajaya, MM said that the IPB Job Fair activity opened 209 job vacancies and was followed by 36 companies.

He said, IPB Job Fair 2024 Batch II is carried out to facilitate graduates and students of IPB University with the industrial world. Because, public universities are mandated to ensure that their graduates immediately get a decent job and income.

“We try to maximise at least the waiting period for IPB University graduates to be less than 6 months. This is also one of our efforts to support the Main Performance Indicator (IKU) of IPB University,” he explained.

Assistant Director of Career and Entrepreneurship Development, Rici Tri Harpin Pranata, MSi added, the IPB Job Fair activity this time is carried out in a hybrid way (on site and virtual) so that it makes it easier for applicants, especially alumni and IPB University students.

“We are optimistic that the IPB Job Fair this time can absorb more than 3,000 participants,” he said. (IAAS/TIA)
