IPB Future Museum and Gallery took part in a joint exhibition organized by the Bogor Land and Agriculture Museum in commemoration of Indonesian Museum Day (Harmusindo) 2024.

The exhibition titled “Museum for Indonesia” is part of the museum promotion efforts in Bogor City. In addition, the exhibition aims to increase cultural, historical and agricultural literacy among the community, especially for the younger generation.

The joint exhibition was officially opened by Listina Setyarini, SSos, MP, as the Task Manager Chief of the Land and Agriculture Museum. The event was targeted to attract 700 people over two days.

“With a target visit of 700 people, we hope that this exhibition can stimulate the interest of the younger generation, especially millennials and generation Z, to view museums as learning centers and sources of knowledge that are relevant to the development of science and culture in this modern era,” Listina explained.

IPB Future Museum and Gallery carries the concept of mini museum in this joint exhibition event. This concept carries three periods, namely the past, the present and the future. To represent the past, IPB Future Museum and Gallery exhibits lecture tools used in the past, such as Titler, Sony Video Camera Selector HVS-200P, and Video Home System (VHS).

Meanwhile, various innovations of IPB University obtained through collaboration with Science Techno Park (STP) are exhibited as a manifestation of the present and future projections. In addition, the IPB Future Museum and Gallery also offers interactive games to gain attention from the visitors, especially the younger generation.

This event also became a momentum for IPB Future Museum and Gallery to launch “Agri Connection Book Vol I: Interactive Commodities”. This book discusses various superior commodities spread across five major islands in Indonesia, namely Sumatra, Kalimantan, Java, Sulawesi and Papua.

The inauguration of the launch was marked by the handover of a set of “Agri Connection Book Vol I: Interactive Commodities” by Lina Herlina Tresnawati, SKomp, MKom, Assistant for Digital Archives and Museum Management of IPB University, to the Task Manager Chief of the Land and Agriculture Museum, Listina Setyarini, SSos, MP.

“With augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technology, readers can feel the experience as if they are directly in the world presented by this book,” said Lina. (*/Rz) (IAAS/ZQA)
