Department of Plant Protection IPB University Organizes The 3rd Southeast Asia Plant Protection Conference 2024
The Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, IPB University has organized The 3rd Southeast Asia Plant Protection Conference. Titled “Adoption of New Technologies for Plant Health Management”, the event took place in a hybrid setting at the IPB International Convention Center, Bogor, in early November. The conference was attended by 119 participants from within and outside the country.Â
The event was opened with a keynote speech delivered by Dr Mohamed Zakeel Mohamed Cassim, a researcher from The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO), Australia. Followed by Prof Yeni Herdiyeni from IPB University.
The event continued with the first session presentation. The speakers were Dr Nur Azura Adam (Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture/SEACRA), Philippines; Prof Kyeong-Yeoll Lee (Kyungpook National University, South Korea); and Prof Purnama Hidayat (IPB University).
In the second session, the material was presented by three speakers, namely Dr Buyung AR Hadi (International Fund for Agriculture Development); Dr Srinivas Parimi (Provivi Inc); and Dr Antarjo Dikin (Indonesian Quarantine Authority).
Dr Sari Nurulita as the chief executive said, more than 200 people attended this SEAPPRO activity, both as oral and poster presenters from within and outside the country. A total of 71 oral presenters and 10 poster presenters presented their latest research results.
The second day continued with the presentation of research results on the latest technology for plant health management. Some of the institutions involved include the Palm Oil Research Center; the Animal, Fish and Plant Quarantine Standard Test Center; the National Research and Innovation Agency; the Indonesian Quarantine Agency; and Minamas Research Center.
Presentations were also made by the Ministry of Agriculture, PT Korintiga Hutani, PT Great Giant Pineapple, Veteran University of East Java, Gajah Mada University, Sriwijaya University, Diponegoro University, Andalas University, Jember University, Padjadjaran University, Trunojoyo Madura University, Baturaja University, Hasanuddin University, IPB University, and National Taiwan University.Â
