Collaborating with Three Environmental Communities, IPB Vocational School Students Implement Village Campus in Sukadamai Village
The ‘Zero Waste Warrior’ Village Campus program initiated by IPB University Vocational School students successfully collaborated with three environmental communities in overcoming the waste problem in Sukadamai Village, Bogor City, West Java (14/11).
This Village Campus activity combines the strengths of three environmental communities, namely TrashRanger Indonesia, Pycle Community, and Sahabat Sampah Mekarwangi.Â
The Zero Waste Warrior program aims to increase residents’ awareness regarding sustainable waste management and provide additional skills in utilizing waste into valuable products.
The Village Campus is filled with various educational activities, such as socialization related to waste management and waste banks, as well as a workshop on making wallets from woven waste.Â
“We hope that with this Village Campus program, the Sukadamai community can be more aware of the importance of waste management, and be inspired to continue to innovate in processing waste into something useful,” said Fahriza Rifalsyah as the chief executive.
According to him, the Village Campus program is a tangible manifestation of student participation in overcoming environmental problems in the community, in line with the spirit of community service that is always applied by IPB University.Â
“With the collaboration between students, environmental care communities, and the community, it is hoped that this step can be an inspiration to build a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment in Sukadamai,” said Fahriza. (*/Rz) (IAAS/SNI)
