Supporting the Reduction of School Dropout Rates, BEM KM IPB University Holds Learning Classes for Students in the Campus Circle
IPB University’s Student Executive Board (BEM-KM) initiated the Bentang Asa Foundation (BAF) program. This program aims to foster and assist students in grade 6 elementary school (SD) and grade 9 junior high school (SMP) in the surrounding area of IPB University campus.
Held in Benteng Village, Ciampea District, Bogor Regency, BAF 2024 carries the theme ‘Changing the Future, Opening Opportunities for the Nation’. This program is promoted to prevent dropout rates and increase the hope of continuing schooling of selected students.
Fawwaz Muhammad Faruqy Hidayat, one of the student representatives, said that this year’s BAF presents various teaching and learning activities such as learning classes, experimental classes, creative classes, and outbound which are held for approximately three months. BAF 2024 collaborates with the Perintis Pendidik Nusa Foundation as a liaison stakeholder with the village.
In addition, the students of the Student Creativity Program for Community Service (PKM-PM) team ‘A New Child’ also participated in the success of teaching and learning activities by providing learning tools to get to know and understand themselves better.
The scholarship recipients or commonly called beswan have recently undergone graduation. The parents of the scholarship recipients were also present to enliven the graduation as well as the closing of BAF 2024. One of the parents expressed his gratitude to the committee for organizing this activity. “My child can learn many new things,” he said.
As is known, BAF 2024 provides scholarships in the form of financial assistance and soft skills to increase the learning spirit of the students. (*/Nr) (IAAS/RUM)
