Semarak Siswa Madani: Fema IPB University Welcomes the Visit of Universiti Putra Malaysia Students
Faculty of Human Ecology (Fema) IPB University received a visit from students of Faculty of Human Ecology (FEM) Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in a series of Semarak Siswa Madani events. The visit was held on 23/9 at IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor.
This activity aims to improve cross-cultural understanding and broaden the global horizons of FEM UPM students. Semarak Siswa Madani will last for two weeks, starting from September 23 to October 5, 2024.
“This activity is expected to strengthen collaboration between Fema IPB University and Universiti Putra Malaysia,” said Prof Elistina Abu Bakar as Vice Dean of FEM UPM.
FEM UPM students will carry out various activities such as attending lecture classes at Fema IPB University, visits to Kampung Budaya, collaborative workshops, sharing sessions on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Indonesia and Malaysia with student organizations at Fema IPB University.
“We open the widest possible opportunities for cooperation with FEM UPM in the form of student exchanges, co-supervisors of student final assignments, and summer course activities. This aims to provide opportunities for students to gain international experience and learn about global culture,” said Dr Megawati Simanjuntak, Vice Dean of Fema IPB University for Academic, Student, and Alumni Affairs.
Dr Megawati continued, it is hoped that students will not only gain a broader academic understanding, but also valuable experience in understanding the cultural diversity that exists in Southeast Asia. This program is an important momentum in building long-term cooperation in the academic and cultural fields between IPB University and UPM, as well as strengthening relations between countries through education.
