Faculty of Animal Science (Fapet) IPB University held the fourth Workshop on Forage Production and Processing at the Meeting Room of IPB International Convention Center (IICC), Bogor (25/9).

This activity presented the Dean of Fapet IPB University, Dr Idat Galih Permana, teaching staff of the Division of Forage and Pasture Plant Science and Technology of the Department of Nutrition and Feed Technology (INTP) IPB University, such as Prof Panca Dewi MHKS, Prof Luki Abdullah, Dr Iwan Prihantoro, Dr Asep Tata Permana, Dr Nur Rochmah Kumalasari, and other teaching staff.

This workshop also presented two resource persons, Ir Triastuti Andajani, MSi, from the Indonesian Society of Animal Science (ISPI) and drh Eka Harissuparman, MSi from the Training Center of the Agricultural Extension and Human Resources Development Agency (BPPSDMP).

This workshop was a follow-up discussion from the third workshop in order to review the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards (SKKNI) for the Management of Animal Feedlots. In addition, the fourth meeting determined the timeline for the issuance of SKKNI.

Dean of Fapet IPB University, Dr Idat Galih Permana said that the SKKNI in the field of forage feed can be a reference in improving the quality and quantity of livestock production, especially ruminants in Indonesia.

drh Eka Harissuparman, MSi also added that currently the number of SKKNI is still very limited and the BPPSDMP Training Center will continue to assist the issuance process of the SKKNI for the Management of Animal Feedlots.

The review was conducted by Ir Triastuti Andajani, MSi and Sri Pudji Astuti, SE, MSi. “The writing of the introduction needs improvement, the writing of definitions is adjusted to the discussion in the SKKI, and the unit of competence that adopts does not need to be rewritten,” explained Ir Triastuti Andajani, MSi when reviewing the draft.

Meanwhile, the SKKNI review from Sri Pudji Astuti, SE, MSi includes writing performance criteria and competency elements at least two in each unit of competence, writing definitions re-adjusted to the discussion of SKKNI, and all units of competence must be on the map.

“Hopefully, the SKKNI publishing timeline that has been made can be implemented until the SKKNI is published,” explained Prof Panca Dewi MHKS while closing the workshop. (Welas/Rz) (IAAS/Aly)
