IPB University Vocational School continues to show its role in producing graduates who are ready to compete in the industrial world through various internship programs. One of them is the BUMN Talented Generation Internship (MAGENTA) program. This program provides opportunities for students, such as Farida Dwiputri, a student of the Accounting Study Program, to hone their skills and knowledge in leading companies such as PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero).

Farida had the opportunity to intern at PT Pupuk Indonesia for almost a year in the field of Management Accounting. During her internship, Farida was involved in the preparation of cost of goods produced (COGS) reports and profitability of non-fertilizer subsidiaries, as well as participating in the company’s strategic decision-making.

“I am very grateful for the opportunity to learn many new things and develop myself,” Farida said.

Farida also took the opportunity to operate Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, such as SAP and BPC, used in business planning and consolidation. This experience not only improved her technical knowledge, but also practiced her ability to work in a team and face challenges in the working world.

Since her studies, Farida has had a deep interest in exploring further how agricultural science can be integrated with accounting principles. Through her experience at PT Pupuk Indonesia, she found that management accounting concepts, such as cost control, collection of COGS-forming costs, cost analysis, and preparation of COGS and profitability reports can improve cost efficiency.

Management accounting concepts are also useful for evaluating the performance of each product and providing support to management in making decisions in the fertilizer and non-fertilizer fields. Thus, Farida succeeded in proving that agricultural science and accounting can complement each other and provide significant added value in the business world.

“One of the most memorable things during the internship was the tremendous support from the mentors and management accounting staff of PT Pupuk Indonesia. The guidance and direction they consistently provide has been a key factor in the success of my internship. I am very grateful for the opportunity to learn from such dedicated professionals”, Farida explained.

In addition to technical work, Farida actively participates in various activities organized by PT Pupuk Indonesia, such as TownHall Meeting and Pupuk Indonesia Innovation Award. For her, these events provide a deeper insight into the challenges and opportunities that exist in the BUMN sector and enrich her experience as a future professional.

The MAGENTA program, initiated by the Ministry of BUMN, aims to bridge the needs between the academic world and industry. The program provides practical skills that are highly needed in the industry, so that MAGENTA graduates, like Farida, can immediately contribute significantly to the companies where they work.

Farida’s success in this program proves that IPB University Vocational School has succeeded in preparing its graduates to become professional and competent human resources (HR). With the support of mentors and the experience gained during the internship, Farida is confident that she will be able to compete in the increasingly complex world of work. (ASW/Rz) (IAAS/Hap)
