IPB University Vocational School Helds Block System RPS Preparation Workshop
IPB University Vocational School held a Workshop on the Preparation of Semester Learning Plans (RPS). This workshop aims to design more effective and structured learning methods in accordance with industry needs and the latest technological developments.
In the opening speech, the Vice Dean of the Vocational School of IPB University for Academic, Student Affairs, and Alumni, Dr Rina Martini conveyed the importance of curriculum reform for Vocational School graduates. She said, IPB University Vocational School is currently trying to improve graduation achievements in several aspects, namely entrepreneurship, scientific development, mastery of the latest technology, both domestically and internationally.
“With the creation of the 2020 Curriculum (K2020), it is hoped that students can develop knowledge, attitudes, and skills that will push them out of poverty and can contribute to the nation and country,” she added.
Prof Yulin Lestari, Director of Educational Transformation and Learning Technology (TPTP) IPB University, explained about the role of block system-based RPS. She said, this block system is designed to facilitate students in achieving the required competencies through a planned learning path/journey.
“The RPS which is prepared in accordance with Ministerial Regulation No. 3 concerning National Higher Education Standards allows a more focussed learning process, lasting for one semester in the study program,” said Prof Yulin.
One of the lecturers of IPB University Vocational School, Nur Aziezah, SSi, MSi gave her response regarding the achievement of RPS. She said, the importance of applying project-based learning (project-based learning) in achieving RPS targets.
“To achieve optimal results from RPS, there must be project-based learning. Students can collaborate with industry partners and produce real products,” said Nur Aziezah, a lecturer in the Software Engineering Technology (TPL) Study Program.
This workshop emphasises the commitment of the IPB University Vocational School to improve the quality of vocational education, especially in preparing graduates who are ready to face the challenges of the world of work. Through this activity, it is expected to be a concrete step of the IPB University Vocational School to be more ready to face the challenges of the dynamic and diverse working world.
