Landscape Management Division, Department of Landscape Architecture, Faculty of Agriculture IPB University visited four potential locations of Freedom of Learning – Independence Campus (MBKM) Mandiri for Bachelor of Landscape Architecture students, not long ago.

Prof Hadi Susilo Arifin, as the Chairman of the Landscape Management Division, said that this visit aims to ensure that the students of the Landscape Architecture Department will do an internship in the management field, so that they can act like a landscape manager.

“This visit is to ensure that there is a mini curriculum related to 10-20 semester credit units (SKS) that will be carried out by students. This visit is also to ensure the student admission that will be carried out in the odd semester next year, the number of quotas and the duration of the implementation, until the opportunity for the MBKM Mandiri Internship is continued as material for the student’s final assignment,” he said.

Prof Hadi was fully present with the members of the Landscape Management Division, namely Prof Syaritinilia, Dr Nurhayati, Dr Kaswanto, and Prita Ayu Permatasari, MSi.

The first collaboration safari was held to Baliwellnes which was received directly by I Wayan Carma, as the owner who is also an alumnus of IPB University. He fully supports this invitation for collaboration because of the mindset that local knowledge must be passed on and disseminated.

The second location is Bali Chocolate Village which is managed by Dr I Wayan Alit Artha Wiguna, as Founder and Vice President of Cau Chocolate. “Currently, the chocolate tourism landscape is growing and really needs the expertise of fellow Landscape Architecture students to help organise tourism in the chocolate plantation so that it is more attractive and satisfying for visitors who come,” said Dr Alit in a discussion at the resort he managed.

The next collaboration was carried out to Mitra Bali Landscape Architects (MBLA) Studio which was welcomed by Chandra Feriansyah, as the Founder and Director of MBLA Studio. “This collaboration is very good for students to be ready for work. Landscape architects born from here will certainly be more resilient and resilient in facing the world of work. They will be more adaptable in their profession,” added Chandra who is also an alumnus of the Landscape Architecture Department of IPB University.

The collaboration safari continues to Raffles Bali in Jimbaran, South Kuta. The Landscape Management Division Team was received directly by the General Manager, Katya Herting. “We are very happy to receive views from academics, especially from IPB University, to exchange opinions regarding the development potential of this resort,” Katya concluded.

The activity ended with an agreement with partners for the implementation of MBKM Mandiri Internship at the manager level. This collaboration safari is part of the IPB University Division Grant activity which aims to improve the performance quality of the lecturers in it. Hopefully this activity can contribute to the Main Performance Indicators (IKU) 1 and 2 IPB University. (*/Nr) (IAAS/TIA)
