Postgraduate School (SPs) IPB University inaugurated the third dormitory for international students at Dramaga Campus (25/10). This dormitory can later be used by international students, especially from the Developing Country Partnership (KNB) and non-KNB scholarships at SPs IPB University. 

Present in this activity were Dr Alim Setiawan Slamet (Vice Rector for Resource Resilience and Infrastructure), Prof Dodik Ridho Nurrochmat (Dean of SPs), Prof Titi Candra Sunarti (Vice Dean of SPs for Resources, Cooperation, and Development), Dr Defina (Language Coordinator Lecturer), and 22 KNB SPs students from various batches.

“Congratulations to SPs IPB University for successfully realizing a dormitory for international students. We hope that this will be a special place for students from various countries. Become a place to share, discuss, and build networks in a good environment within the campus of IPB University,” he said.

He stated, “IPB University is always committed to providing a decent place to live and a supportive environment for students, both academically and non-academically.”

Meanwhile, Prof Dodik Ridho Nurrochmat explained that this dormitory is managed by SPs IPB University, previously there have been two dormitories inaugurated and very helpful for international students. 

With the increasing number of international students who continue their studies at SPs, IPB University is committed to providing the best facilities and services for international students. “Do not let international students who come to IPB University have difficulties in getting a place to live, he said.

“This housing need becomes something very crucial and we provide this dormitory free of charge for KNB program students in the first year,” he added.

Currently, there are 11 students of KNB program in 2024 from Yemen, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Egypt, Thailand, Afghanistan, Kenya, Rwanda, Malawi, Timor Leste, and Ghana, both from master and doctoral programs. 

IPB University is one of the reputable universities in Indonesia that has the mandate to run the KNB program. This program is a scholarship program from the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) which aims to improve the quality and international reputation of Indonesian higher education.
