Increase the Capacity and Performance of Startups, LKST IPB University Holds Startup Bootcamp 2024

The Science and Technology Area Institute (LKST) IPB University, as the implementer of the Promoting Research and Innovation through Modern and Efficient Science and Techno Parks (PRIMESTeP) program in 2023-2027 through the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), set 9 startups to participate in the 2024 Startup Incubation program.

One of the series of activities is the Startup Bootcamp which aims to increase the capacity and management skills as well as the business performance of the participants. This bootcamp lasted for three days at IPB International Convention Centre, Bogor (25-27/9).

Chief of LKST IPB University, Prof Erika B Laconi said that Bootcamp Startup has an advantage in forming a resilient and adaptive startup.

She said that this program includes various activities to help startups in accessing funding, business opportunities, and strategic cooperation.

In its implementation, participants are also encouraged to establish a strong partnership and study business science in depth.

“Startup fostered by LKST IPB University must have good business ethics, maintain positive relationships with customers, innovators, and other partners. Creativity and innovation are the key to the success and sustainability of startups,” she said.

Prof Erika added, LKST IPB University is committed to running this program with the hope of creating a startup that is tough, innovative, and able to survive in the business world through the mastery of science and technology that they develop.

Acting Director of Institutions, Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology, Ministry of Education, Culture and Technology, Dr Bhimo Widyo Andoko revealed that this PRIMESTeP program can improve the management skills of startups and businesses that are being run.

According to him, startup founders must be able to present sustainable innovation, develop the local economy, and be ready to face global challenges. “This program is expected to make IPB University also a centre of innovation and entrepreneurship. Activity participants must also develop a clearer business vision and prepare for a better future through this bootcamp,” he said.

This activity presents a resource person, Founder Better & Co, Alline Rosida who provides material about ‘Objective Key Result (OKR)’, which helps organisations set clear goals and measure achievements to improve focus and performance.

Assistant Director of the Treasury of the Financial Directorate of IPB University, Niken Widyastuti, was present to discuss the financial reporting mechanism for the 2024 PRIMEStep program grant.

Chief of Resource Audit, IPB University Internal Audit Office, Widaryanti, also conveyed financial accountability guidelines. Meanwhile, Assistant for Digital Transformation of the Information Management and Digital Transformation Institute (LMITD) of IPB University, Dean Apriana Ramadhan, SKom, MKom, explained financial reporting through the IPB University HR Portal.
