Faculty of Animal Science IPB University Holds The 2nd ICARE 2024
Faculty of Animal Science (Fapet) IPB University successfully held The 2nd International Conference on Sustainable Animal Resource and Environment (ICARE 2024). The event lasted for two days (16-17/10), with the theme ‘Fostering Resilience: Animal Environmental Research and Technology for Sustainable Production’. The conference was held at the IPB International Convention Center (IICC), Bogor, Indonesia.
In his remarks, the Dean of Faculty of Animal Sciences of IPB University, Dr Idat Galih Permana, said that the 2nd ICARE was a form of the Faculty’s commitment as an excellent educational institution in the field of animal science to continue to contribute to the scientific and social community through the dissemination of research results.
“Since 2009, we have consistently organized international seminars that discuss the livestock industry. ICARE itself began in 2021 as a transition from the International Seminar on Animal Industry (ISAI), by expanding the scope of publications and maintaining scientific integrity in the field of animal science,” he explained.
This year’s conference highlights the theme ‘Fostering Resilience: Animal Environmental Research and Technology for Sustainable Production’. This theme emphasizes the importance of innovative and sustainable solutions in the livestock industry.
Considering the increasing challenges such as climate change, population growth, and resilience of production systems, the theme invites participants to explore how research and technology can contribute to environmental sustainability and ensure the sustainable production of animal resources.
Prof Jakaria, Chairperson of the ICARE 2024 Committee, explained that this event is a collaboration between Fapet IPB University and the Indonesian Animal Science Association (HILPI).
