DPMA IPB University and YBM BRILiaN Inaugurates Indonesian People’s Hall
Directorate of Agromaritime Community Development (DPMA) IPB University collaborates with Baitul Maal Foundation (YBM) BRILiaN to inaugurate the Indonesian People’s Hall, 17/10. This facility was built in order to increase human resource capacity (HR), located in Agribusiness and Technology Park (ATP) IPB, Dramaga.
The construction of the Indonesian People’s Hall is part of the cooperation program between DPMA IPB University and YBM BRI, with a focus on capacity development through various training and community empowerment.
The Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria, in his speech, appreciated the cooperation between IPB University and YBM BRILiaN. He also emphasised the importance of synergy between educational institutions and parties engaged in the social sector.
“We hope this facility can become a centre for innovation and community empowerment, especially in the field of agribusiness and technology,” said Prof Arif Satria.
He admitted, IPB University is always committed to giving a real contribution to the community. Thus, the Indonesian People’s Centre is a concrete step in connecting education with the needs of the wider community.
“Hopefully this facility can support the growth of better human resource potential,” said Prof. Arif Satria.
The Chairman of the YBM BRILiaN Development Agency, Ir Sunarso, said that the construction of the Indonesian People’s Centre is a part of the effort to make a real contribution to the improvement of community welfare.
“We believe that this facility will be an important means to provide relevant training, increase capacity, and support the development of small and large businesses,” said Sunarso, who is also an alumnus of IPB University.
Sunarso also emphasised that YBM BRILiaN has a vision to make training and empowerment as a way to encourage community economic independence. He also emphasised that the Indonesian People’s Hall will be the centre of training activities that aim to increase the capacity of participants in various fields such as agribusiness, technology, business management, and community development.
“The training program that will be held in this hall is expected to help participants, both from academia and the general public, to develop skills that are relevant to the needs of the current market and industry. In addition, this hall is also designed as a place to facilitate empowerment activities that focus on the welfare of the surrounding community,” said Sunarso. (*/ra) (IAAS/IAN)
