BEM SVMBS IPB University Holds OLIVE 2024, Intra-Veterinary Sports Competition
The Sports Department of the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (SVMBS) IPB University Chimera cabinet held the 2024 Intra-Veterinary Sports Competition (OLIVE). This competition is a forum for channeling sports and arts appreciation for the SVMBS community to support health, development of interests, talents, and training of positive mental attitudes through brotherhood and sportsmanship.
This activity is carried out in the form of a sports and arts competition involving students, staff, lecturers, and alumni of SVMBS IPB University. There are 11 sports branches competed including basketball, futsal, chess, soccer, volleyball, table tennis, athletics, and badminton. There are also esports competitions such as Mobile Legends, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG), and Pro Evolution Soccer (PES).
This activity is divided into three series of events, namely the opening, matches, and closing starting from October 5th to November 17th, 2024. The venue for the matches will be held at a number of sports facilities on the IPB Dramaga Campus, such as the Gymnasium, Gelora Stadium, and Sports Arena (GOR).
The Chief Executive of OLIVE 2024, Ridhallah Afkar Muharram, said that this program aims to increase the spirit of sports among the SVMBS IPB University community, facilitate the interests and talents of the community in the fields of sports and arts, and establish brotherhood and togetherness between the community.
“Our hope is that through sports and arts we can foster a spirit of sportsmanship and cooperation among the entire SVMBS IPB University academic community,” said Ridhallah. (AP/Rz) (IAAS/ASD)
