25 Startups Assisted by LKST IPB University Get Coaching on Business Communication to AI Implementation
IPB University’s Science and Technology Area Institute (LKST) held the Startup Coaching Series of IPB University Incubation Program Year 2024 at the IPB International Convention Center (IICC), Bogor recently.
This activity aims to increase the capacity of human resources (HR), knowledge, and skills of startups in running their business.
Chief of LKST IPB University, Prof Erika Budiarti Laconi in her speech advised the participants to take advantage of this opportunity to learn from the experts. “Please learn about communication strategies and business negotiations, as well as how to communicate with buyers and other partners,” she said.
Meanwhile, Prof Rokhani Hasbullah as the Vice Chief of LKST IPB University in the field of Business Incubators and Industrial Partnerships said that the participants who took part in this coaching were startups who received funding incubation programs from IPB University.
Furthermore, he also expressed his gratitude because 25 incubated startup managers had the opportunity to learn directly from competent resource persons in their fields.
The resource person was Dr Ahmad Mukhlis Yusuf, Commissioner of PT Bogor Life Science and Technology (BLST) Holding Company IPB University. He is also the Director of the National News Agency (LKBN) Antara. The material presented was entitled ‘Communication and Business Negotiation’.
With business negotiations, said Dr Ahmad, companies can secure profitable contracts, establish good relationships with business partners, optimize profits, and reduce the risk of loss. “In addition, business negotiations also allow business people to explore various opportunities, handle conflicts, and expand their business networks,” he said.
Another resource person was Dr Eng Heru Sukoco, an IT Expert from the Higher Education Association of Informatics and Computers (Aptikom). He delivered the material ‘Application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Startup Businesses’.
“The application of AI for startups is very important because startups often have to move fast and innovate, so AI can help create faster and more efficient solutions,” he explained.
In the next session, participants learned about ‘Product Branding and Marketing’ delivered by Tubagus Ari Wibawa Mukti, as Innovation Associate.
“The branding strategy is divided into three, namely creating a unique and memorable brand identity, determining the target audience, and creating personas that represent ideal customers,” he concluded.
The chief of LKST IPB University expressed her hope that this coaching series could help improve the business managed by startups, including increasing turnover and expanding business networks. (*/Nr) (IAAS/HLF)
