Prof Arif Satria: Be a Graduate with an Impact on Society

IPB University Graduation Programme for Doctoral, Master, Bachelor and Diploma Education Phase II Academic Year 2024/2025 was held at Graha Widya Wisuda Building (GWW), 11/9. This graduation was attended by 24 doctoral students, 159 master students, 596 undergraduate students, and 20 diploma students. The graduation was opened by the Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria.

On this occasion, Prof Arif Satria gave advice on how to respond to change. He said that the alumni could become true learners with a future mindset. According to him, the world is currently volatile so that the abilities of the alumni must quickly increase.

“Therefore, remain a true learner. We can learn from anyone and anywhere, we can continue to grow by learning,” said Prof Arif. 

Besides being a learner, Prof Arif added that alumni can survive by adapting. He said, innovation plays an important role in defeating monotonous and stagnant development.

“IPB University continues to strive to create new innovations in order to become a trendsetter. The graduates of IPB University are expected to continue to produce innovations when they graduate and can have an impact on society,” said Prof Arif Satria.

The Rector pointed out that IPB University itself also presents educational transformation by presenting many innovations. IPB University built Science Techno Park (STP) and Agribusiness and Technology Park (ATP) as one of the channels to flow innovation to the community. In addition, many innovations from campus have been present for the community. 

Prof Arif also said that integrity is very important, especially to strengthen relationships and trust. “Integrity can include honesty and commitment. The results of character are certainly reflected in daily behaviour and actions so, keep all your integrity in order to achieve success,” concluded Prof Arif Satria. (Frans/ra/Rz) (IAAS/RUM)
