P2SDM IPB University Establishes Cooperation with Brunei Darussalam in the Field of Human Resource Development
The Centre for Human Resource Development (P2SDM) of IPB University made an official visit to Brunei Darussalam in order to initiate cooperation in the field of human resource development (HRD). The visit was made to two important institutions, which were Jabatan Perkhidmatan Pengurusan under the Prime Minister’s Office (23/9) and Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education (SHBIE) at the University of Brunei Darussalam (24/9).
The visit to Jabatan Perkhidmatan Pengurusan was productive. Both parties discussed various potential for cooperation in increasing HR capacity, both in the public and private sectors. P2SDM IPB University and Jabatan Perkhidmatan Pengurusan identified various relevant training and development programmes to strengthen the professional competence of the workforce in various fields. The visit was received by the head of the institution, Akramin bin Awang Hj Ash’ari and his team.Â
Furthermore, the meeting with SHBIE discussed the potential for collaboration in the fields of education, research and training, particularly on efforts to increase the capacity of human resources in the education sector. Received by Dr Hjh Hardimah binti Hj Mohd Said (Dean SHBIE), Dr Siti Norhedayah Haji Abdul Latif (Vice Dean Academic and Student Affair), and Dr Roslinawati binti Mohd Rosla (Vice Dean Research and Innovation).
The discussion covered the implementation of training for local government leaders and staff in the Bogor Regency area, exchange of lecturers and students, collaborative research, and curriculum development in accordance with industry needs in the digital era.
Dr Amiruddin Saleh, Chief of P2SDM IPB University, said that this visit was a strategic first step in building a strong partnership with Brunei Darussalam. “We are very enthusiastic about the prospect of cooperation that can support the improvement of the quality of human resources, both in Indonesia and Brunei. Strengthening human resources is the key to success in facing global challenges in the future,” he said.
In line with the Chief of P2SDM, Dr Yulina Eva Riany, Chief of the HR Research and Development Division of P2SDM IPB University also said that these two meetings are expected to be the foundation for broader cooperation in the future, especially in research, especially in the field of sustainable HR capacity development.
The visit of P2SDM IPB University to Brunei Darussalam is also part of IPB University’s commitment to continue to expand international networks and establish strategic cooperation with various institutions abroad, especially in the field of HR development.Â
