IPB University receives visit from UIN Raden Intan Lampung and Cenderawasih University

IPB University received a visit from State Islamic University (UIN) Raden Intan Lampung and Cenderawasih University. The group was received directly by the Chairman of Sustainable Campus Development Board (BPKB) of IPB University, Dr Ibnul Qoyyim in Rector’s Conference Room 1, IPB Dramaga Campus (13/9).

In his speech, Dr Ibnul Qoyyim welcomed the group of UIN Raden Intan Lampung and Universitas Cendrawasih. He gave an explanation of the locations that the delegation would visit at IPB University, namely Lake SDGs, Taman Semangat as the location of integrated waste management and the construction of solar panels.

Vice Chief of Sustainable Campus Infrastructure Planning and Development, Dr Heriansyah Putra added about the role played by BPKB IPB University in providing direction related to spatial planning with a sustainable concept. This step is carried out through the preparation of a strategic plan every year.

Dr Heriansyah also reviewed the plans that will be carried out with the Bogor Regency Government regarding toll roads and the concept of IPB Sustainable Value.

“The action plan is more about digitisation of parameters, in the form of data collection using information and communication technology (ICT), calculating vehicle mobility to calculate how much carbon is released,” he said. 

“We also innovate waste management located in Taman Semangat and are building solar panels, our homework is related to green energy and climate change mitigation,” he added.

Rector of UIN Raden Intan Lampung, Prof H Wan Jamaluddin Z MAg in his speech expressed his gratitude for having the opportunity to do benchmarking at IPB University. 

“IPB University is an extraordinary campus. Alhamdulillah, IPB University and UIN Raden Intan Lampung have a long relationship, this is a valuable moment. We have implemented a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with IPB University,” he said. 

Prof H Wan also explained that UIN Raden Intan Lampung is the first religious university to be ranked by Greenmetric UI, which is ranked 9th. “Thank you for helping to improve our performance in ranking. It’s a strong commitment to sustainable development goals, we really labour to inspire more,” he concluded.

Visiting guests from UIN Raden Intan Lampung and Cendrawasih University had the opportunity to visit SDGs Lake and IPB University’s Agribusiness Technology Park (ATP). The latter is an area of IPB University innovation and integrated agribusiness development by empowering the surrounding community.
