The first ‘‘Mina Padi’’ in Sukajadi Village, Tamansari District, Bogor Regency, was successfully inaugurated by a number of IPB University students. They are the team of the Student Organization Capacity Strengthening Program (PPK Ormawa) of the Aquaculture Student Association (Himakua) IPB University.
Himakua IPB University launched the ‘Mina Padi’ program with the aim of being a pilot for other villages to maximize productivity activities and local food sources that lead to increased community income.
According to the team leader, Muhammad Bimosena Sofiawan, ‘Mina Padi’ in Sukajadi Village is a re-introduction of the old system in the form of integration of agriculture and fisheries, namely ‘Mina Padi’ which in the future can be an opportunity for agro-tourism, and not just an agricultural economy.
“Hopefully this program will become a pentahelix synergism between the government, academics, entrepreneurs, communities, and the media so that the ‘Mina Padi’ program, as well as other programs, can be implemented in a sustainable manner,” he said.
The symbolic inauguration of the ‘Mina Padi’ was carried out by cutting the ribbon of the gate, as well as stocking fish in the ‘Mina Padi’ land. The event was attended by several stakeholders, including the Chairman of the Bogor Regency Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Service (Diskanak), the Chairman of the Economy and Development Section of Tamansari District, the Chief of Sukajadi Village, the Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK) IPB University and the supervisor of the PPK Ormawa Himakua team.
The presence of a number of stakeholders is a symbol that the entire community of Sukajadi Village, the sister village, Purwasari Village, and students of the PPK Ormawa Himakua team fully support the implementation of the ‘Mina Padi’ program in Sukajadi Village. The first ‘Mina Padi’ in Sukajadi Village is also the result of cooperation from various parties, such as Sukajadi Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) and sister villages.
Chief of Sukajadi Village Ade Gunawan expressed his commitment in supporting this program. He said that the village government fully supports this program 100 percent through food security funds, especially ‘Mina Padi’ which will focus on rice cultivation.
Meanwhile, Mujiono, Chief of the Tamansari Economy and Development Section, added that this program will be fully supported by the sub-district government so that it can have an impact on the formation of a tourism village for Sukajadi Village through the ‘Mina Padi’ sector.
The downstream program in the form of tilapia processing was also socialized through this event. A booth was set up featuring processed products in the form of dim sum as a display of one of the diversified products of processed tilapia with zero waste principles.
“Through this program, we can realize Bogor Tourism which is formed with the support of all parties. I am proud and grateful to PPK Ormawa Himakua students, through this program, Sukajadi Village can become a miniature pilot of ‘Mina Padi’, “said Nurhayati as Chairman of Diskanak Bogor Regency.
