IPB University Lecturers Provide MSME Product Legality and Safety Training in Tanggamus, Lampung
IPB University’s Mengabdi Lecturer Team organized training on legality and safety of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) products in Talang Padang District, Tanggamus, Lampung. This training was attended by at least 26 MSME players who already have halal certificates. The IPB University lecturer team was led by Dr Ahyar Ismail and consisted of Tursina Andita Putri, MSi, Danang Pramudita, MSi, and Hardiana Widyastuti, MM.
The team leader from IPB University, Dr Ahyar Ismail, said that this training was a continuation of a similar program that had been implemented three years ago. “In 2022, we started with sustainable production and marketing management training. The training was then continued with halal certification in 2023, and this year we focus on business legality and product safety of MSMEs,” explained Dr Ahyar Ismail, IPB University lecturer from the Faculty of Economics and Management.
He explained, through this training, MSME players are expected to be more confident in developing their business. Especially with strong legality and better product safety standards, so that they can compete in local and national markets.
Dr Ahyar Ismail added that, in addition to the delivery of material, the training also facilitated MSME players to form an MSME communication forum in Talang Padang District. This forum is expected to be a means to share information, expand marketing networks, and increase collaboration between MSMEs.Â
Retno Noviana D, MT, Chairperson of the Cooperative, Industry and Trade Office (Koperindag) of Tanggamus Regency, appreciated the implementation of the training from IPB University. “This training is a form of good collaboration between the local government and universities. With this training, it is expected that MSMEs in Talang Padang can improve the quality of their products and be able to penetrate a wider market,” said Retno.
Meanwhile, Omi Lestari, Chairperson of the UMKM Division of the Tanggamus Diskoperindag, stated that this forum is very useful for building networks and developing joint businesses. She also encouraged MSME players to join the Anugerah Alam Sari cooperative, so that they can utilize the various facilities provided by the cooperative to support business growth.
One of the training participants, an MSME player from Talang Padang, expressed the great benefits he received from this activity. “This training really helped us understand the importance of product legality. By having a distribution permit and halal certificate, our products become more reliable in the eyes of consumers,” he said. (*/ra) (IAAS/Hap)
