Students from the CEO School 2024 program at IPB University carried out an MSME Visit and Mentorship program in Benteng Village, Ciampea, Bogor Regency. This activity is part of an effort to empower micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through direct guidance, covering key aspects of business development.

One of the main focuses of the mentorship was Umi Fatmah’s MSME, which is renowned for its kebuli rice spice mix. The program aimed to help business owners grow their operations by providing support in financial management, digital marketing, and product innovation.

The mentorship for Umi Fatmah’s MSME concentrated on optimizing the production and packaging of the kebuli spice mix. CEO School students assisted Umi Fatmah in improving production processes to increase efficiency and enhance the quality of product packaging.

Additionally, the students introduced marketing techniques via e-commerce platforms, providing training on how to reach a broader market and making the products more accessible to consumers.

“I am very grateful for the mentorship from the CEO School students. With their help, I have learned how to better manage production and market my products online. This has been a great help in expanding my business,” said Umi Fatmah, expressing her appreciation for the program.

The students of CEO School also found the experience beneficial. Heni, one of the program participants, stated, “This mentorship gave me the opportunity to apply the knowledge I learned in class to a real-life situation. Working directly with Umi Fatmah and witnessing the challenges faced by MSMEs has deepened my understanding of the importance of innovation and the right business strategies.”

The program is expected to positively impact Umi Fatmah’s MSME by improving the competitiveness of local products in the market, while also providing practical experience for CEO School students in applying their classroom knowledge. This activity underscores the CEO School’s commitment to supporting local MSME development, with the hope that small businesses like Umi Fatmah’s can serve as success stories for other MSMEs in Indonesia.
