Welcoming New Students in 2024, IPB University Graduate School Holds Public Lecture
The Postgraduate School (SPs) of IPB University held a Public Lecture to welcome new students for the odd semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The public lecture was held at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM), IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor, (6/8).
This public lecture invited Prof Aman Wirakartakusumah, Rector of IPMI Institute and also Rector of IPB University for the period 1998-2002. This public lecture was attended by new students of doctoral, master and professional engineer programs.
Prof Deni Noviana, Vice Rector of IPB University for Education and Student Affairs, in his speech, welcomed the new students of SPs IPB University.
“Welcome to the campus that has produced many innovators and leaders in agriculture, technology and other sciences. This campus is not only a place to learn, but also a place to develop yourself, collaborate and innovate,” he said.
Prof Deni added that education is a very extraordinary investment. He explained, currently IPB University is listed as Top 10 Universities Ranking in Asia 2024 by Subject Agriculture and Forestry. He asserted, this achievement needs to be maintained well with the quality of publications and of course supported by the quality of research through programs that have been provided by IPB University.
“We hope that these new SPs students can study smoothly, be successful in the future and of course graduate on time. Now start communicating with the head of the study program and also the supervisor in order to convey the research topics that will be taken later,” he added.
Meanwhile, Prof Dodik Ridho Nurrochmat, Dean of SPs IPB University explained that in 2024, the new students accepted were 1,926. Of these, 1,301 students have re-registered, while the remaining 625 have postponed lectures for the next semester, waiting for certainty of receiving scholarships.
“The total active students of SPs IPB University in the odd semester of the 2024/2025 academic year are 7,163 students spread across 56 master study programs and 43 doctoral study programs and 1 professional engineer study program,” he explained.
Prof Dodik explained, SPs IPB University facilitates international programs, among others, through student and lecturer mobility, both joint degrees, double degrees. Therefore, he encouraged new SPs students to participate in international programs that have been established so far.
The public lecture was followed by a presentation on general and financial administration by Prof Titi Candra Sunarti; academics, student affairs and alumni by Prof Yusli Wardiatno; education administration and new student admissions by Dr Utami Dyah Syafitri; information management and digital transformation by Dean Apriana Ramadhan, SKom, MKom, as well as an overview of Forum Wacana by Deli Wakano, SPd, MSi.
