The Spirit of Togetherness Colored the Commemoration of the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia at IPB University
IPB University held a Commemoration Ceremony of the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia on Saturday (17/8) at the Rectorate Field, IPB Dramaga Campus. The ceremony was attended by IPB University residents starting from the organ leaders (Board of Trustees, Academic Senate, Council of Professors, and Vice Rector), other leaders, lecturers, education staff, students and Agrianita.Â
Vice Rector of IPB University for Resilience, Resources and Infrastructure, Dr Alim Setiawan on that occasion invited all levels of society to contribute to nation building.
“On behalf of the leadership and all citizens of IPB University, we congratulate the 79th birthday of the Republic of Indonesia. IPB University is committed to improving the quality of higher education to be able to produce quality human resources to fill the ‘New Archipelago of Advanced Indonesia’,” he said.
On that occasion, he also read the text of the 79th Independence Day speech from the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemdikbudristek), Nadiem Anwar Makarim.
“Indonesia’s independence is the fruit of a movement towards a common goal. Likewise, the ideals to advance education and culture, we must strive together with a spirit of gotong royong,” he said, reading the text of the Minister’s speech.
He continued, “The Merdeka Belajar Movement is just the starting point, it is far from perfect, we have not yet reached the finish line, and the journey ahead will certainly still have many challenges. For that, let’s continue to strengthen our determination and struggle to bring Indonesia to leap into the future,” he concluded when reading the text of the speech of the Minister of Education, Technology and Research.
At this year’s ceremony, there were 72 lecturers and education personnel of IPB University receiving the Satya Lencana Karya Award for 10, 20, and 30 years of service. This award is a form of appreciation for outstanding dedication and contribution in supporting the progress of education and research at IPB University.Â
As the master of ceremonies, Dr Alim said that this award is expected to motivate the entire academic community to continue working for mutual progress.
At the closing ceremony, a parade of the Sports Tournament Contingent commemorating the 61st Anniversary of IPB University was held. This annual tournament is a place for healthy competition for all IPB University residents, while strengthening the spirit of togetherness and sportsmanship in the campus environment.Â
In addition, there was also a bazaar and independence Day competition in collaboration with Agrianita. The competitions held included tug of war, clog racing, balloon dancing, inserting chopsticks into bottles, relay sack racing, decorating cone, arranging fruits and vegetables, red and white gebyar, fashion creations from newsprint, and eating donuts. The enthusiasm of the participants was seen in every competition, creating a spirit of healthy competition and full of fun in the campus environment. (dr/Rz) (IAAS/SNI)
