Rabuan Bersama: Rector Outlines IPB University’s Strategic Plans and Achievements in the First Half of 2024
IPB University Rector, Prof Arif Satria, outlined several strategic plans, roadmaps, and the university’s achievements during the first half of 2024 in the Rabuan Bersama event held online on August 14th.
Prof Arif Satria revealed that, based on IPB’s 2024-2028 milestones, the main theme for IPB University in 2024 is “Resilient Ecosystem for Advanced Science and Technology.” This theme focuses on developing an organization resilient to rapid and unforeseen changes in the fields of science and technology.
For the subsequent years, IPB University will adopt themes centered around innovation and global engagement, including “Innopreneurship and Value Creation” in 2025, “Global Engagement” in 2026, and “Globalized Sustainable University” in 2028.
“For this semester, IPB University is prioritizing several programs, including transdisciplinary education, a resilient education system, high-quality research infrastructure, and robust information and communication technology (ICT) management,” he said.
Prof Arif Satria also emphasized the importance of innovation in education, cryptocurrency management, and the enhancement of laboratory facilities and cybersecurity information systems.
He stated that IPB University is committed to achieving international accreditation for all study programs and continuously improving information systems and organizational welfare.
IPB University’s performance in global rankings has also improved. According to the QS World University Ranking, IPB University climbed significantly to rank 426 globally in 2024, up from 489 in 2023.
“In the field of Agriculture and Forestry, IPB University has remained the best in Southeast Asia for three consecutive years. Additionally, in the ASEAN rankings by AppliedHE, IPB University is ranked third in Southeast Asia,” he added.
Prof Arif Satria also mentioned improvements in faculty achievements, new student admissions, and publications. “Everyone continues to support and work hard to achieve the set targets,” he remarked.
On this occasion, IPB University’s Vice Rectors and Secretary of the Institute provided more detailed explanations about the achievements and plans in their respective fields. (MW/Rz) (IAAS/RUM)
